North American Empire

Sometime in the future, Canada, the United States and Mexico come together under one union to oppose the growing might of the South American Coalition. They appoint an Emperor who can appoint his (or her) successor and elect a Senate, led by a Princeps Senatus chosen by the people, and, within a few decades, their military might is second to none, and they have managed to keep South America at bay.   But, despite its might, the North American Empire hasn't been able to defeat South America yet, and the war rages on. To combat the growing threat in the south, the emperor created a secret program in which unborn babies were genetically engineered to be superior to anyone who came before.   And now, two-and-a-half decades since the program was created, a new threat has come to light: a virus that could spread into a global pandemic unless the government can stop it, and one of the children of the program may hold the key to creating a vaccine.
