Wrym

Queen Wrym Tezcacoatl- Fenllyr

Artifacts

Albeit not in divine nature itself, Fimbulvetr has become known as a legendary tome throughout the world of Nohseyrnas. Safeguarded in the capital's most secretive of rooms, it once again saw the day of light when the spirit of Fafnir summoned it and handed it over to his daughter, Vega.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Taking on the power of Dinistr, she wanted to bring the world back to being orderly, as for too long, it had been entrenched in chaos. This embodies the deity as he was responsible for maintaining cycles.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Wrym was petite and at the verge of being underweight for most of her life. During her escape from her old home, she lost her right eye from a pursuant and covers it up with a massive hair bang.

Body Features

From age, her legs are entirely covered with scales, also growing upon her arms and lower backside.

Facial Features

She has a rounded face with full cheeks and a large eye. A blue bang of hair obscures her scarred, blind eye from the public. More than usual, Wrym has a flushed face, cheeks red from all the moving around she does. Her eyelashes are especially long and make it look as if she has eyeliner applied, which she usually doesn't. Her eyebrows are thin yet sharp in their shape.

Identifying Characteristics

She has pointy ears jutting out from the sides of her head.

Physical quirks

She was missing an eye, being half-blind. This made it a struggle for her to maneuver the battlefield, especially since she was not born half-blind. However, she soon got accustomed to it, becoming a force to be feared by anyone who intercepted her path.

Special abilities

Wrym harbored dominion over the realms of dark, light, and elemental magics. Although most remember her being a healer, it was actually her husband who had mastery over that. She showed no mercy to her opponents on the battlefield, although she wondered at points if she and her crew were going too far into discouraging conflict. Still, she continued on, writing a tome of her own dubbed "Fimbulvetr" which harnessed ice magic to its absolute extreme.

Apparel & Accessories

Wrym wore a white overcoat, cut below the shoulder and forming a wide v shape. Her dress cuffs and the neckline were lined with a pale blue color the same tint as her hair. The bottom of the overcoat had a petal-shaped cut out at the front, with the back rounded out and pointed, also lined with a pale blue. Below all this, she wore a navy-blue dress, similarly shoulderless with a turtleneck. It was long enough to fall below her ankles. Notable as well, she wore navy-blue gloves to hide her fully-scaled hands. Finally, she wore white boots.   Not always but most notably depicted in most artworks at the time (although, they are destroyed at this point), she wore a golden diadem with blue and white jewels inside of it. Fafnir himself commissioned for it to be made, as he wanted everything for his wife at the time.   Not always did Wrym wear the above outfit, as she had one for royal occasions as well. In such wear, she wore a purple shawl with gold trim over a sweetheart-necklined red dress. The dress itself was made of a thin sort of fabric covering her feet, so there were many folds formed. A golden band covered the top of her ribcage. She wore gloves extending past her elbows, the same shade as her shawl. Finally, she also wore purple shoes with the soles golden as well.

Mental characteristics

Gender Identity

Wrym identifies as female. Since all dreitol share the same parts between them, there are not exactly two sexes. Due to this, dreitol generally do not abide by the strict gender roles upheld by the human colonies, for instance. Although she might be described as feminine by humans, she does not stick to such labels. If she feels like representing herself differently one day, then she will go for it. However, she generally does prefer to stick to more feminine ideas of representation.

Sexuality

She does not have a preference for how people express themselves as, nor does she exactly care what genitalia someone has. Due to this, one might consider her bisexual.

Education

Wrym did not receive an excessive amount of education, instead learning things as she went through her life. To better her understanding of reading, she enrolled herself into a institution of higher-learning, but other than that, she was genuinely naive about most things. However, in regards to religion, she knew quite a bit regarding the two deities of the world. Asking her about them would prompt long explanations about whatever aspect the asker was curious about.   However, once she met Fafnir, she gained a great understanding of politics and weaved her way into the world of trans-kingdom affairs.

Employment

Wrym used to be a soothsayer, peering into people's futures and telling them what awaited them. However, she ended up in hot water when she foretold a noble about how chaos would befall him, angering him greatly and resulting in him chasing Wrym out of what would later be known as Nohseyrnas. As she took refuge in a small forest community, she was hesitant resume her work, but thanks to the encouragement of everyone else, she began it again. She offered her services when recruited into Fafnir's Holy Crusaders to its fellow members, getting flustered at one point when she saw the leader's future would intertwine with hers. However, she failed to foresee her ultimate fate.   As Fafnir overthrew the former ruler of the kingdom and became its new one, he wed Wrym in a grand ceremony, and she became the new Theocracy of Nohseyrnas' queen. Although she seldom offered her services anymore, when dealing with royal affairs, it was known she was especially clever. Her wit was welcome in most situations, and her intelligence was nothing to be scoffed at.

Accomplishments & Achievements

She worked with the crusaders to get rid of the individuals over the world with the power to continue waging wars. Of course, it was done in the form of conquest, although after all the fighting came to an end, Fafnir divided up the land between the people and holds no power over them anymore. She brought peace to the rest of the realm next to her allies, although the measures they took were fine at best and absolutely horrific at worst. It took a toll on her mental health.

Mental Trauma

The death toll of the war eventually caught up to her as she started to heavily regret continuing to fight. As the Holy Crusaders pillaged villages and even killed a few bystanders to make points to their enemies, it weighed down on her heart to the point she needed to call for rest on traveling. After dying in childbirth, when her husband tried to bring her back to life, she refused, her guilt and shame for the actions they had caused strong in her mind.

Morality & Philosophy

Wrym does not like letting people go without them receiving a just punishment if they provoked her in some way. This stems from her incident with the noble, as he got away with chasing her out of her old home.

Taboos

She could never bring herself to kill a child, even if for the greater good.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Part of her motivation comes from achieving vengeance against the man who forced her out of her comfortable abode. However, such a weak motivation disappeared as she saw the true extent of corruption scattered across Mamtir, and as a result, felt the need to do something about it.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

As stated multiple times, she is a master of seeing the future, telling those nearby what lies in store for them. She can stay calm in the most stressful of situations, having built it up as a coping mechanism for managing her emotions. Wrym struggles with small talk, preferring to discuss only major topics and the like. Long ago, Wrym dabbled into healing magic but was never able to grasp it to its full extent, and eventually, she left that job up to her husband. She can barely hold a physical weapon due to her weak upper-arm strength as well.

Likes & Dislikes

Wrym liked to keep a snack on hand, no matter if it was a random vegetable she found while foraging for food or leftovers from a fancy meal. She liked to feed the birds seeds which is why she always kept seeds on hand as well. Lounging about in bed was also one of her favorite things to do, although later on, she hardly got to do it due to her obligations toward other things. She enjoyed working as a soothsayer and seeing into others' futures, although she was definitely flustered when she foresaw herself marrying Fafnir. In contrast, Wrym disliked seeing her own future, deciding to keep herself guessing at every turn.

Virtues & Personality perks

Level-Headed, Wise, and Observant

Vices & Personality flaws

Cold, Suspicious, and Uptight

Personality Quirks

No one has ever seen Wrym with her hair down, except for Fafnir, maybe. She cannot stand having her hair down and will always tie it up into a bun. If not a bun, then usually into a high ponytail. If not either of those, then she braids her hair.

Hygiene

Wrym tended to be relaxed about her hygiene, not bothering to shave her legs or any other part of her body. She took measures to make sure her hair stayed nice though, and it was to a great success because her former allies recalled it looking especially shiny and thick.

Social

Reign

It lasted several years. Perhaps the most memorable moment of her reign was when she ultimately died, leaving the King by himself to rule Nohseyrnas for another millennium.

Contacts & Relations

She had a good friendship with the other crusaders in the party, Gunther and Saiph. She was closer to Gunther than she was to Saiph, although she thought the latter was especially brave in her actions. Always teasing Gunther a lot, her behavior led to a lot of jokes being shared between the two, and he inevitably became the third-wheel when she and Fafnir got together. Even though it has been long since she passed, her allies still remember her fondly.

Family Ties

During the rite that caused her husband to become one with the god Bywyd and herself to become one with Dinistr, she gave birth to Chigai. However, due to Fafnir recreating the world to fit his liking and to end war, he undid most of his atrocities and also resulted in Chigai staying 'unborn' for a millennia more. Because of this, she never got to formally meet her son. In return, he knows she existed but is not even aware of what she looked like, let alone not having heard her name before. It was as if Wrym's very memory was wiped, leaving only Fafnir's Holy Crusaders to recall who she really was.

Religious Views

She looked to Bywyd and Dinistr for guidance, but after their inaction regarding the war consuming the realm, decided to take matters into her own hands alongside her husband.

Social Aptitude

Wrym, although immensely clever, did not exactly have charisma. Her coldness was to blame as most saw her as rather unwelcoming or even scary to be around. She was confident enough to fight well in battles, always focusing her aim and hitting right on or nearby the target. Not thinking too highly of herself, Wrym relied on her allies to give her pick-me-ups when her level-headedness broke away to reveal the stress dormant underneath. An introvert as well, she hardly attended celebrations or parties unless they were royal in nature.

Mannerisms

Wrym tended to have a lot of hand gestures when explaining something to someone else. Other than that, she was never ostentatious with her body language and tended to be less active more than anything. She always spoke formally but never to the point of dropping contractions entirely. Always, Wrym did well when taking a walk, and she usually took one every morning to clear her head before the day. She discussed any dreams she had with Fafnir, whom she walked alongside after the two became a couple.

Hobbies & Pets

One of her hobbies was feeding the birds, always carrying a pack of seed with her wherever she went. It brought her a lot of joy to watch them flock around the seeds and chirp. Other than that, she often spent her time lounging within nature, feeling the sun beat against her. She especially liked sitting next to lakes and oceans, listening to the waves. One might expect her to favor books, but in reality, she thought them quite boring. What she preferred instead was to watch long plays and listen to joyous bards, burying herself into the noise.

Speech

Wrym spoke in an elegant way but never minced her words if she needed to be assertive. Sometimes, people viewed her as cold due to this, but she viewed it as being honest with everyone. Never did she raise her tone much, staying calm in most situations, but the most notable event where she talked in a way different than her usual cadence was when she, as a spirit, spoke to her husband. Since Nohseyrnas is based on Wales, she had a Welsh accent, though of course it is known as a Nohseyrn accent over there. She seldom complimented others, and in the rare chance she does dish one out, it is incredibly special. She liked to greet others by saying, "Greetings," and she liked saying farewell by saying "Farewell." Wrym avoided casualness at all costs. Swearing made no appearance in her vocabulary as well as she would instead come up with creative metaphors to express her frustration.

Wealth & Financial state

Her wealth class changed throughout the years, as Wrym once began as what might be called "the Middle-Class." She was no noble, exactly, but she made a decent living through her soothsaying services. However, once exiled from her homeland, she fell to the lower-class and struggled to hunt for herself in the wild. Her magic would often make food inedible or, at the very least, disgusting. She struggled to get accustomed to her new life as a result, wanting to go back to her old life. However, it was through this living that helped her empathize with everyone else.   Once recruited into Fafnir's Holy Crusaders, not much changed for her. However, as soon as she became Fafnir's betrothed, she could suddenly access more wealth than she had access to in decades. It overwhelmed her, and even to her death, she seldom took advantage of it all. Her most expensive purchase had to be her husband's wedding ring.

Character Prototype
The idea for Wrym came from my friend, Chigai's, attempts at creating the other parent for his character, Chigai. He first started with a blue-haired, bearded man named Takao, to which he quickly scrapped as he was also the prototype for where Fafnir would originate from in the future. Then came another character who was brought up as a supposed concubine for the man, the male variant being called Myrrd and the female one Serenity. He opted for Serenity at the time, although these characters quickly disappeared as well. Then, the idea of a divine conception came up where Chigai had no other parent but his father, but this also fell to the wayside. He also humored the idea of his character named Gunther, Fafnir's retainer, being Chigai's father, but it was also ultimately disregarded. Eventually, as I sat here watching all of this go down, I thought to myself, "I can just own two of his parents: his step-parent and his actual one. Who says that can't be how it is?" Thus began me formulating the design for what I would preemptively name "Mym" then later change to "Wrym" based on a friend's advice. This, funnily enough, coincided with my friend Leo, having taken an old design of Serenity and making her into his own OC (although... she's since been abandoned again.) He, too, made a version where she might possibly be Chigai's mother, although I overall won out.   Here we are today! Wrym's current design takes some strong inspiration from an obscure Fire Emblem character named Melitha.
