Algar
Algar is considered the herald of the gods, as well as the protector of heralds, travellers, thieves, merchants, and orators. He is able to move quickly and freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine. He is regarded as "the divine trickster".
His primary title; "God of Desire" describes all these things, both good and evil. Desire to see whats on the other side of the hill. Desire to own something belonging to someone else. Desire to spread wealth, to others and to yourself, through commerce. Desire to teach, and spread knowledge. Desire to trick and fool others, to make yourself laugh. Or, make others laugh with you. The fertility side, that is often associated with him, is a bit easier to understand why people link desire to sex. He is not opposed to this link, but also doesn't govern over fertility-based rites, as he leaves that to Edun.
He is considered a mage, and has a tendency to help magic users, and has the title as Master of Magic. But many Gods can be described as protector of mages, and all of them use, or encourage the use of magic in one way, or another.
