    Heart of Etheria Project Begins
    Construction beginning/end

The Leaders of the First Ones begin work on the Heart of Etheria project. The work is highly secretive. It is unclear whether the project began before or after the outbreak of war with the Horde. Since this project involved the creation of the Sword of Protection as a means to use She-Ra as a conduit for directing the output of the Heart, and Mara was unaware that She-Ra existed without the sword, we can be reasonably certain that this even predates Mara becoming She-Ra.

  • -999 BE1

    Mara Becomes She-Ra
    Life, Identity

The Leaders of the First Ones involved in the Heart of Etheria Project give Mara the Sword of Protection. It is unclear if Mara had the potential to become She-Ra before this, how She-Ra existed before, or how the existence of She-Ra was changed due to the interference of the First Ones on Etheria.

  • -998 BE1

    Mara meets Madame Razz
    Life, Education

Mara meets Madame Razz and learns that She-Ra has a history on Etheria which predates the Sword of Protection and the colonization of Etheria by the First Ones.

  • -997 BE1

The First Ones are defeated by The Horde
    Military action

The First Ones are almost entirely eradicated by Horde Prime. It is unclear whether this occurred before, after, or concurrently with Mara's revolt.

  • -997 BE1

    Mara's Revolt
    Revolution

Mara discovers that the Heart of Etheria is a weapon with the potential for Universal Omnicide.   Because Mara does not want such a weapon to be used, she incites a rebellion against the leaders of the First Ones.   Because the rebellion is unable to dismantle the Heart using the Failsafe, Mara gives her life to hide the Sword of Protection and seal the planet in the dimension of Despondos.   Because it is separated from the wider universe, Etheria does not experience further contact with the Horde or the First Ones for centuries.   Because of her connection with First Ones Technology And/Or Etherian Magic, Mara's influence persists in as memories in the Beacon Temple   Because of Madame Razz's temporally disjointed consciousness, Mara is aware of Adora and leaves a message behind for her to find on her ship.

Hordak is relegated to the front lines by Horde Prime as a result of imperfections in the cloning process that created him.

    Hordak Portal Accident
    Population Migration / Travel

Hordak and his vessel fall through a portal to Despondos where the crash-land on Etheria in the Kingdom ruled by Scorpia's grandfather.

  • -33 BE1

Hordak's Rise to Power on Etheria
    Founding

Because he is desperate for Horde Prime's approval, Hordak begins a campaign to subjugate Etheria in order to obtain the resources he needs to build a portal to return to the rest of the Horde. As the first phase of his plan, Hordak supplants Scorpia's grandfather, establishes The Fright Zone, and begins recruiting local populations to serve in his armies. It is unclear what his methods actually are for any of these activities.

  • -32 BE1

    Expulsion of Light Spinner
    Life, Career

Because of Hordak's rise to power through conquest, Light Spinner proposes plans to gain power for a counter-attack. The plan is refused by the council of the Mystacor Sorcerers' Guild. Because her proposal is denied, Light Spinner goes behind the council's backs and performs the planned ritual, The Spell of Obtainment, with the assistance of her protege, Micah. Allegedly because of Micah's failure of nerve during the ritual, the ritual fails and Light Spinner is grievously disfigured. Because she broke the council's ruling, Light Spinner is violently expelled from the guild. Because she wants revenge for what she perceives as unjust treatment, Light Spinner joins the Horde. She assumes the name Shadow Weaver and is given stewardship of The Black Garnet.

  • -30 BE1

    Marriage of Angela and Micah
    Marriage

Exact date unknown. May or may not be concurrent with Micah's organization of The First Princess Alliance. May predate or post date Glimmer's birth. Most likely to have occurred after Light Spinner's Expulsion since no mention of Angela is made in Shadow Weaver's recollection of her time tutoring Micah. Micah ascends to co-regent of Bright Moon. Given the title of King.

  • -25 BE1

    First Princess Alliance formed
    Founding

Micah and Angela orchestrate the first Princess Alliance to oppose Hordak's conquest.

Birth of most of the major cast members
    Life, Birth

This is pure speculation and has a +/- 5-year error margin at minimum. To the best of my knowledge no canonical age information exists for the majority of the cast at the time of this writing. We may include Adora, Catra, Glimmer, Bow, Mermista, Perfuma, Scorpia, Sea Hawk, Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio in this cohort.   Entrapta, Spinnerella, and Netossa are all implied to be older, though once again there is no hard data.

Light Hope Attempts to Capture Adora
    Life, Relocation

The First Ones planetary administration A.I. called Light Hope attempts to use limited portal capability to capture an infant with the potential to be She-Ra from a surviving population of First Ones. It is unclear why she did this now, whether there had ever been or would ever be other candidates. Hordak detects the portal and captures the infant Adora before Light Hope.

Adora and Catra taken in as Wards
    Life, Relationship change

Technically less than a matter of days after Light Hope's attempt to capture Adora. Marked as a year later to enforce timeline order.   Adora and Catra taken in as wards of Shadow Weaver. Shadow Weaver unambiguously favors Adora while singling Catra out for extra negative attention above and beyond any other cadet in their training cadre. It is unclear whether the other three members of Adora and Catra's training team were also wards. Lonnie in particular is shown to have known Adora and Catra since childhood.

  • -15 BE1

    First Princess Alliance disbanded
    Disbandment

Unclear whether Micah's exile and presumed death were the cause of the disbandment, but they were probably concurrent.   This is likely to have been the latest possible date alliance's disbandment.

  • -14 BE1

Catra and Adora Make the Promise
    Life, Relationship change

Catra and Adora are caught by Shadow Weaver in the Black Garnet Chamber. Because she favors Adora for her magical potential, Shadow Weaver immediately pardons Adora, but threatens to kill Catra if she jeopardizes Adora's future. Because Catra is distressed by this, Adora promises her that they'll always have and look out for eachother.

  • -14 BE1

    Hordak delegates the war effort
    Life, Career

Because the major opposition has been defeated, Hordak delegates most administrative and tactical tasks to Shadow Weaver in order to gain additional time to work on his research.

    Catra vows to never Apologize
    Life, Relationship change

Because Adora had been making friends with Lonnie, Catra attacks Lonnie. Because Catra attacked Lonnie, Catra is driven into hiding behind some boxes where Adora later finds her. Adora tries to convince Catra to apologize. Catra attacks Adora. Adora returns later to find Catra for dinner time, then decides to stay with her behind the boxes to miss dinner with her if that's her choice. Catra reveals that she attacked Lonnie because she'd been making friends with Adora. Catra is upset because she has a one-friend-limit policy and does not take kindly to Adora's suggestion that she should make up with Lonnie so that they can all be friends. Catra vows to never apologize.

  • -5 BE1

    Catra's poor attitude is exacerbated
    Life, Failure / Mishap

After loosing a sparring bout when Lonnie and Adora gang-up on her, Catra retreats to cry about it. We later find out that despite the blaze attitude she takes to her loss, the pain of being second best to the only person who matters to her is eating her inside. She explicitly tells Adora (in S1E11) that she had been lying about not caring about being the best. Events of this kind along with Shadow Weavers abuse contribute to Catra having a poor attitude and hostile disposition.

    Adora Defects to the Rebellion
    Life, Milestone

Because of unspecified factors in her upbrining, Adora has become an exceptionally accomplished graduate of the Horde's officer training program and is promoted to Force Captain. Because Adora is promoted, her fellow ward, best friend, fellow cadet, closest competitor, and bedfellow Catra is passed over for the position. (Well done, Soren. That's a candidate for r/SapphoAndHerFriend right there.) It may be inferred from the events of S1E1 that Catra's being passed over for promotion is due to her poor attitude stemming from frustration over always being second best. Because she is passed over for the promotion, Catra sulks. Because she value's Catra's happiness, Adora abuses her privileges to commandeer a vehicle for a joyride. Because of Catra's reckless driving, Adora is thrown from the vehicle and gets lost in the woods where she finds the Sword of Protection. Because she believes there's something she doesn't known, Adora later returns to the woods to investigate the sword. Because Adora goes looking for the sword, she encounters Bow and Glimmer who were also searching for it. Bow and Glimmer are able to overpower Adora and take her captive. Because the Horde's indoctrination had painted the opposition as the aggressors in the conflict, Adora initially does not believe Glimmer's account of how a town was destroyed. Because of a harrowing series of events, Adora agrees to accompany Bow and Glimmer to learn more.

    The Horde Attack Thaymor
    Military action

Because Shadow Weaver has been tracking Adora, she is able to send the assault force to Thaymor in order to retrieve Adora. Catra is sent with this force despite not initially being a part of it. This may imply that Shadow Weaver trusts Catra more than any other person to retrieve Adora. Because Adora is more concerned with righteousness than with political loyalty to the Horde, Adora refuses to return despite a personal appeal from Catra. Catra expresses indifference to the moral depravity of the Horde on the grounds that she and Adora will one day be in charge of it, making the harm it does to people irrelevant. Adora commits to her decision to defect, transforms into She-Ra, and drives back the Horde.

    Catra promoted to Force Captain
    Life, Career

Because of Adora's defection, Hordak demands that Shadow Weaver choose another candidate for Force Captain. When Shadow Weaver protests, Hordak promotes Catra to Force Captain. Despite her promotion bringing her closer to the power and prestige that she craves, Catra is distraught over Adora's defection.

Assault on Horde fort at Plumeria
    Military action

Because Adora has joined the rebellion and wants to be proactive, she volunteers for a relief-supply escort mission to Plumeria. Because Plumeria is experiencing a blight upon its plants, Princess Perfuma hopes that She-Ra will heal it as she is said to be able to do in legends. Because Adora does not know how heal the plants, she is initially unsure of how to help. This distresses her. Because the team discover the root cause of the blight to be machinery installed by the Horde, they decide to assault the horde's stronghold. The team successfully disables the devices and drives the Horde out of their outpost at Plumeria.

    Skirmish at Salineas
    Military action

Because Glimmer suggests opening diplomatic channels with Princess Mermista of Salineas, she, Bow, and Adora travel to meet her. Because Shadow Weaver continues to attempt to recapture Adora despite Hordak's orders, she sends Catra, Scorpia, Kyle, Lonnie, and Rogelio to Salineas. Because the Salineas Sea Gate is damaged, Adora offers to repair it in exchange for an alliance with Mermista. Because Catra resents Shadow Weaver's orders and is distraught over loosing Adora, she verbally lashes out and degrades Adora for superficial reasons before attempting to take her captive by force. Because of Glimmer's quick thinking, She, Bow, Mermista, and Sea Hawk are able to defeat the Horde's vessel, protect Adora from Catra, and give Adora time to finish repairing the gate.

Because of ongoing recruitment efforts, Adora, Glimmer, and Bow travel to Dryl to recruit Princess Entrapta for the alliance. Because Entrapta experiments recklessly with First Ones technology she found, all robots at Dryl are become afflicted with homicidal behaviour. Because The Sword of Protection has an adverse reaction to the First Ones technology that Entrapta was experimenting with, Adora is temporarily disabled. Interrupted vacation
    Life, Supernatural

Because Adora has never relaxed in her life, Glimmer and Bow decide to take her for a brief vacation to Mystacor. Because Shadow Weaver is very familiar with Mystacor, she elects to use magic to project herself there rather than send Catra. Because Adora has a better defensive self-awareness than her friends, she notices Shadow Weavers magical projections when her friends don't. Shadow Weaver attempts to use auditory and visual illusions to trick Adora into thinking that her friends are disparaging her behind her back. Because Adora eventually sees through the illusions, Adora rejects Shadow Weaver's attempts at manipulation. Adora rebukes Shadow Weaver and unambiguously rejects her.
Because Shadow Weaver failed to manipulate Adora, Catra considers alternate tactics and recognizes that Adora's biggest weakness is her loved ones. It is unclear whether Catra recognizes that this would apply to herself, but given later events it is unlikely that she made this connection.

Because of Etherian Tradition, all the princesses and their guests attend a party in the Kingdom of Snows; The guest list includes Adora because she is She-Ra, and Scopria despite her position as a Force Captain of the Horde. Because Scorpia is invited to the prom, Catra takes advantage of the opportunity to strike a blow against the rebellion by manipulating Adora. Catra expected to be able to distract Adora for the entire evening while her minions went to work.    Because Bow decided to attend the prom with Perfuma, Glimmer's anxiety over the strength of her friendships surfaces.   Catra's plan works essentially flawlessly. She kidnaps Bow and Glimmer, steals the Sword of Protection, and detonates ice-melting devices which create a distraction sufficient to cover her escape.

First Assault on the Fright Zone
    Military action

Because Bow and Glimmer have been captured, the Princess Alliance mounts an assault on the Fright Zone. Queen Angela has said that she will give herself as ransom to save her daughter. Adora's allies show up and propose the raid. Because of overwhelming force, rather than the reliable execution of the plan, the Alliance is able to rescue Bow, but Adora is briefly captured by Shadow Weaver. Because Adora is capture and slated for brain-wiping, Shadow Weaver immediately demotes Catra. Because Glimmer is able to escape her bonds, she breaks Adora out of her restraints and the two flee. Because she lingered too long in a corridor section that was about to seal and be purged with fire, Entrapta is separated from the other and presumed vaporized. Because of spite towards Shadow Weaver, Catra returns the Sword of Protection to Adora. She claims not to be motivated by liking Adora.

She stealthily follows Adora inside. They relive memories of their childhood relating to causal factors of their relationship. Life, Education

Adora encounters Light Hope and is given the quest to "balance the planet". Light Hope attempts to isolate Adora from her friends my saying that balancing the planet requires her to let go of her attachments to her friends. This bears remarkable similarity to cult-psychology isolation tactics. It is especially worrying once you know that Light Hope is a Paperclip Maximizer and "Balance the Planet" is a euphemism for "rebuild and rearm the Weapon of Universal Genocide".

    Entrapta Hacks the Planet
    Technological achievement

At Hordak's orders, Shadow Weaver is forced to yield the Black Garnet Chamber to Entrapta, Catra, and Scorpia for Research purposes. Because she has been studying First Ones Technology, Entrapta has a masterful grasp of how the mechanisms of the planetary systems constructed by the First Ones work. Under Catra's orders, Entrapta interfaces with The Black Garnet and triggers a global weather disturbance which causes the Whispering Woods to freeze over so badly that the terrain ceases to be a geographic barrier preventing the Horde from invading Bright Moon in force. Catra asks how the effects could be improved, but interfering with Entrapta's model gives the prediction that destroying the Moon Stone at Brightmoon would enhance and prolong the cataclysmic weather pattern.

Catra keeps Adora busy while the rank and file distract Bow, Spinnerella, and Netossa.

    Quest for Mara's Ship
    Expedition

Adora, Glimmer, and Bow make an unauthorized journey into the Crimson Waste in order to find Mara's ship. Because they have no idea where to go, they enter a tavern of sorts and encounter Huntara. Because they ask politely, Huntara agrees to act as their guide despite previous comments about hostility to outsiders. Because the team disregarded the obvious warning signs, Huntara leads them directly into a trap. Because Huntara was trained to fight by the Horde, Adora recognizes her technique while fighting their way out of the trap. Adora calls Huntara out on not standing for anything. Huntara eventually relents and agrees to support the Rebellion. Huntara leads the team to the ship.

    Political event

Because she has been assigned the suicide mission, Catra enters the Crimson waste in search of the ship. Scorpia goes with her. Because she overhears that Adora and her friends were here, Catra demands to know where they've gone. She explains to Scorpia that Adora always seems to be after the same things as her, so following her will doubtless lead her to what they're looking for. Because Catra thinks she's now lost everything, she is utterly ruthless and without mercy. Because the guides Catra is terrorizing weren't paying attention, they stumble right into an ambush laid by Tung Lashor. Because Catra is "having a bad life", she immediately begins roasting Tung Lashor. Because Catra has goaded him, Tung Lashor attempts to kill Catra. Catra is able to turn the tables and leaves him to die in a pit of quicksand. Catra assumes control of Tung Lashor's Gang.

    Mara's ship located
    Discovery, Exploration

Huntara leads Adora, Glimmer, and Bow to Mara's ship. Adora unlocks the terminal using her sword and sees Mara's recorded hologram. The hologram of Mara says that she had thought she would be the last She-Ra and that she is sorry that she wasn't presumably because of what this means for the fate of the new She-Ra and for the fate of the universe. Unfortunately, the recording is damaged, and it is unclear what some of the message was. The remainder of the message warns against opening portals, though not because of the Horde. Mara doesn't mention the Horde, but does insist that untold deaths would have followed from inaction on her part. She acted deliberately and does not appear to have gone berserk as implied by Light Hope's claim that she "became corrupted".

Because Adora recognizes in time that their captors are using the same toxin as Huntara's gang used, she is able to tell Huntara to make a break for it before they are all captured. Consequently, only Adora is captured. Because Adora tells Catra that Shadow Weaver is in Bright Moon, Catra is driven into abject fury at how Shadow Weaver left her for Adora. She blames Adora for everything and resolves to return to the Fright Zone in order to open a portal and crush the rebellion. Because she has resolved to crush the rebellion ahead of any other consideration, Catra returns to the Fright Zone with Adora as her prisoner. She presents the Sword of Protection to Entrapta and Hordak and relates how she heard Mara's hologram call it the key to the planet. Entrapta opines that this may very well be the last thing they need in order to complete the portal, although she is reluctant to do so for personal reasons. She is worried that reconnecting with Horde Prime would be bad for Hordak. Shadow Weaver uses Glimmer as a battery to power sorcery, thereby making them both more powerful than either would be alone. Because they storm into the Fright Zone, the raid party is met by Catra. Catra is furious with Shadow Weaver for coming back for Adora but abandoning her. Shadow Weaver clarifies that she's ever to destroy Hordak. Catra is furious that Adora "always gets what she wants".

It's unclear whether her personal attachments have actually impacted her ability to become She-Ra. Catra notices this. Because Catra suspects that Shadow Weaver is once again being dishonest, she demands a full explanation of how the failsafe is supposed to work. Because they became separated from Adora during her quest to reach the Heart, Glimmer and Bow take the field. Melog is with them because Catra stayed behind to chase down Adora. Glimmer goes to reinforce the fighters in the field while Bow goes to finish what Entrapta started. Bow takes Melog with him. Glimmer manages to turn the fight on the field. Sea Hawk manages to distract Mermista by flirting with her long enough for a sneak-attack to the chip to disable her.

Because Adora believes she has to do this alone, she parts ways with Glimmer and Bow in the tunnels beneath the First Ones fortress.
Because she has seen what Horde Prime is doing and how it's affecting the planet, Catra returns to camp to find Adora. She only finds Shadow Weaver and demands that the latter help her to reach Adora in time. Shadow Weaver grudgingly complies. The two of them reach the place where Bow and Glimmer became separated from Adora. The two of them pursue Adora deeper into the catacombs. Glimmer and Bow depart to join the battle.
Adora sees a memory of Mara. Adora promises Mara that her sacrifice won't be in vain. Mara says that she paid the price she did in the hopes that nobody would ever have to pay such a price for the fate of the universe ever again. Mara asks Adora what she wants from this when it's all over and tells her that she's worth more than what she can give to other people. Mara tells Adora that she deserves love too, saying that she's so close and not to give up yet.
Horde Prime finds Adora in the system. Because Horde Prime has taken control of the planetary systems, he sets a security-system monster to attack Adora.
Because Catra and Shadow Weaver catch up to Adora, Catra is able to keep the monster at bay while Adora and Shadow Weaver flee towards the heart.
Because Adora refuses to leave Catra to die, she turns back despite Shadow Weaver's protests.
Because Adora would not abandon Catra even under such dire circumstances, Shadow Weaver puts herself between Catra and the monster and commands Catra to take Adora and run. When Catra doesn't immediately obey, Shadow Weaver forces her out of the room with magic and then seals the exit behind her. Shadow Weaver implores Catra to make sure that Adora reaches the heart. She tells Catra that she's proud of her. Shadow Weaver gives her life to save Catra and Adora from the monster.
Because Adora has nearly succumbed to her injuries, Catra helps her walk the rest of the way to the Heart of Etheria.

Adora and Catra confess their love to eachother
    Life, Relationship change

Because she cannot transform into She-Ra, Adora realizes that she will need to give her life to disable the heart before Horde Prime can absorb it. Adora claims that Horde Prime's virus is keeping her from becoming She-Ra.
Because she thinks she's going to have to give her life for this cause, Adora asks Catra to get as far away as she can. Because Adora is still the only thing that Catra really values, she flatly refuses to leave and holds on to Adora while the latter prepares to use the failsafe.
Because she attempts to use the failsafe while Horde Prime is in the middle of absorbing the heart, Adora is incapacitated.
Because she falls partially unconscious in the chamber of the Heart of Etheria, Adora experiences a very vivid holograph/dream of what she wants to experience in her life after the war. She sees Catra, Glimmer, and Bow excitedly preparing for a ball. They appear to simply enjoy one another's company and the prospect of a good party.
Because it was at least partially related to the memory-holographic technology of the temple, Horde Prime is able to interfere with Adora's wish for her future. Horde Prime attempts to place some kind of system-control on Adora that restrains her.
Because Catra wants Adora to keep going and not give up, Catra tearfully confesses that she loves Adora and begs her to stay. Because Adora loves Catra, she is able to muster the fortitude to overcome the system-constrain, transform into She-Ra and deploy the failsafe.
    Catra and Adora kiss.
Because the failsafe is used, the Heart of Etheria safely discharges its magic back into the planet. The biosphere is immediately turbocharged.
Because Horde Prime no longer controls the Heart, Adora as She-Ra is able to drive his consciousness out of Hordak's body.
Because the universe has been saved, there is much rejoicing.
