Layen's Fall

Layen's Fall is a large castle, that lies on the banks of Redlake. This sleepy castle looks pristine and well kept from the outside, with numerous large windows of colour stained glass that overlooks the lake. It lies raised on a hill on the bank, giving it a majestic look, that resembles a nobleman's castle.  Its architecture is believed to be in an old elvish style, which is why Layen's Fall is believed to be elven in origin, though it cannot be determined for certainty.    The castle is abandoned and has been so for a long time, though it bears no sign of neglect in maintenance. It feels like the inhabitants one day decided to just up and leave and subsequently turned the staff invisible and silent.    Stories say that there have been made many attempts to loot the decadent castle, but none with any form of success. Looters never actually return from the halls of this lakeside castle, and therefore one can only speculate as to what this magnificent building might hide in its halls and corridors.     Some legends state, that the inhabitants are actually vampires that lure unsuspecting victims into the halls of the castle, by enticing them with the prospect of riches and wealth ripe for the taking, and when these looters are exploring, the vampires strike from the shadows and drag them to their secret torture dungeon, where the looters will serve as feedbags for many years, kept alive by nefarious magic. Other legends state, that the inhabitants of the castle were cursed by an archfey, a curse that forced the inhabitants to live just outside the realm of the material world, just between here and the ethereal plane, stuck between two planes of existence, invisible and silent to anyone but themselves, cursed to wander the halls of the castle for eternity, and anyone who dares enter the forsaken castle, will befall the same fate as the original inhabitants once had.     But hey.....they are just legends.
