Giants

Giants are the incredibly large and magically inclined race that once was one of two most powerful races in the Age of Giants alongside dragons. The Giant civilizations blossomed until the Giant-Dragon War which decimated both groups. They were then infected by a mutated version of the dragon's Biogenic weapon that was sabotaged by two of their own and then studied by Giants, who accidentally released it. This plague, called the Hopeless Plague, wiped out most Giants. They were forced to give their knowledge in parts to the Elvish races for safekeeping. They then struck a peace treaty with the Dragons who imposed the Ordning caste system as a condition to keep Giants disunited. This was accepted amongst the Giant subgroups except the Giant Kin (in descending order): Storm Giants, Cloud Giants, Fog Giants, Fire Giants, Frost Giants, Stone Giants, Hill Giants, Ettins, Giant Kin (Fir Bolg, Ymirar, Ogres). They now tend to live in secluded clans across the continent but primarily in Jotunheim.
