Dragons

Dragons are shapeshifting and magical beings that once were one of the two dominant races with Giants during the Age of Giants. They fought and war with Giants which led to two of their own betraying them and sabotaging a biogenic weapon which harmed Dragonkind at a genetic level. Where before dragons were brilliant, magically powerful and nigh immortal, they began to become less smart, more limited in powers and having a reduced lifespan. Most importantly, the new generations of dragons lost the ability to hibernate for centuries which allowed them to live basically forever. Dragonkind now is still bale to shapeshift and do magic but much less than their forbearers. Dragons are split between 10 subgroups of dragons: Red, Green, Blue, Black, White, Brass, Copper, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Dragons are a rare race nowadays and live only in secluded regions or in Wyrmthorpe where they act as the nobility. A few ancient dragons still exist but many are in hibernation still.
