Askealfar Moon Elves

The Askeälfar are a unique group of Elven-kin who left the ranks of the Dokkälfar many centuries ago, and went into the far northern mountains where they now live, among the Ymirar and the ruins of the Jötunns. They are matrilineal and gynocentric but not enforcing of gender. They prize knowledge above all and will travel around the world to collect it. They speak in academic debate and don’t lie, as sharing knowledge is the basis of life. To hide knowledge is the worst sin for their people. They live in city-state libraries primarily and their people often are skilled magic users. Their Mother Librarians act as mentors to each individual library with that Mother becoming the avatar of the collected knowledge there, fused with it via magic living as a personal copy of the knowledge. They live longer than most elves, up to 400 years.
