Personal history

Nxasana was born the daughter of two non-Magi of in a small village in the Savannah of Safri. She is described as being a lover of nature and animals from a very long age, and would often vanish into the Savannah for the entire day in her youth, only reemerging just before nightfall with handfuls of berries or honey, or some other gift to appease her nervous parents.   At the age of 13, Nxasana discovered her talent for Nature Magic, learning to speak to hyenas, and soon to all animals. She soon learned how to command and control plants, and would talk to animals and convince them to help her and her village, developing an alliance between them. She would talk to animals and convince them to join her cause rather than try bend them to her will through might of magic alone, allowing her to command vast armies of animals without expending Magic.   By the time she was 16, Nxasana was considered a powerful Magi of Nature. By the time she was 21 she was regarded as among the most powerful Magi of Nature of all time. Nxasana turned down an offer by Lucius Ferrum to become a prominent commander in the Bringers of Glory, expressing hostility towards his interference in the 'untouchable' Magics of Time and Love, as well as his often quite harsh use of Nature Magic to dominate beasts. Lucius later sent a group of goblin assassins after Nxasana to murder her while she was out wandering in the Savannah. Nxasana fought off the assassins with the aid of some surrounding bugs, birds and beasts, but lost her left arm after a direwolf that had been ridden by one of the goblin assassins bit it clean off. A powerful Magi of Creation later created a metallic left arm for her, which he enchanted and gave to her, which she used ever since then.   Nxasana would go on to join the Alliance, becoming a close friend of Suhor the Great and working closely with him. Nxasana started gathering her forces in Safri for a planned joined assault on Lucius and his forces in the Spearwall Mountains.   Not intending to wait for his enemies to unite their forces and destroy him, Lucius led his full forces against Nxasana and her forces, viewing her army as the smallest, and hoping that if he could quickly defeat her and her forces he could weaken the Alliance sufficiently to give him a chance of victory. Nxasana learned of the approach of Lucius's forces from her bird spies, and retreated her forces while sending word to her allies using bird messengers. She sent out small detachments of forces to skirmish with Lucius's far larger force, to delay them and give her time to retreat as her allies rushed to her aid. She eventually made a defensive stand on a hill when she knew she couldn't retreat any further, and when her allies were close enough to reinforce her.   Nxasana held the hill for enough time for her allies to arrive and for to pull enough of her forces out. Nxasana helped lead the alliance forward to win a bloody victory. Nxasana was one of the 13 Magi, one of each of the 13 Schools of Magic, to eventually defeat Lucius Ferrum and to bind him behind a door with 13 Keys, one made by each of the Magi. Shortly after making the Key of Nature, Nxasana passed away from a combination of the injuries she sustained in the battle, and being drained of energy from the complex magic she had to use at the nearly 24 hour long battle.   It is said that where she finally fell, a mighty tree grew, one that some believe still stands to this day.

Sexuality

Said to have been bisexual.

Education

Taught herself Nature Magic, and learned to speak to animals from going out and doing it herself. Later did train alongside some other Nature Magi, teaching them and learning from them, refining and increasing her skills.

Employment

Served as her village's shaman as a young woman, helping to forge an alliance between the villagers and the animals of the surrounding Savannah.   Was later considered as a good choice for the Princess of Nature, a role that would have positioned her as the leader of the Magic School of Nature. She never held this position however, as she died just shortly after the then Princess of Nature, with both falling at the Battle of the 13 Keys.   Was considered as a possible Arch-Mage to replace Suhor the Great, but never filled this role, with both Suhor and her passing away shortly after the Battle of the 13 Keys.   Served as a General in the Alliance, leading the forces of Safri and an army of beasts throughout the brief war, and at the decisive Battle of the 13 Keys.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Still considered the greatest Magi of Nature to have ever lived. Redefined the limits of Nature Magic.

Failures & Embarrassments

Most of the forces of Safri and almost all the beasts she rallied to her side were killed in the terrible Battle of the 13 Keys, although this was against initially incredible odds. Some Bringers of Glory have pointed to the fact that it required both her magic and the magic of 12 other great Magi to take Lucius down to be evidence that she was actually not as powerful as many claim.

Intellectual Characteristics

Said to have been a highly curious and compassionate woman, who took genuine pleasure from talking to and learning from animals.

Morality & Philosophy

Nxasana's close ties with animals led her to becoming a vegetarian at a young age, and she long held that all animals should be treated kindly and with respect. She was a fierce defender of these animals, to the point that she is said to have loved them more than she loved people.   Lucius's harsher domination of animals through his own engagement with Nature Magic, which he is said to have regarded as the "lowest and least refined of all 15 magics", was a major part of the reason Nxasana refused his offer to join the Bringers of Glory as a prominent member, and part of the reason she joined the Alliance against him instead.

Wealth & Financial state

Born into a fairly poor family, Nxasana never had much wealth throughout her life. In factm she viewed the very concept of personal wealth as quite odd and confusing, and was particularly confused by the idea of gold, silver and bronze currency, calling gold coins useless, and silver and bronze coins a waste of good anti-werewolf weapon and armour material respectively.
