Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Mara is built small, with a wiry agility rather than strength. With her choice in clothing and short-cropped hair, her overall impression is somewhat boyish, though most who take a good look would see through it.
Body Features
Reaching nearly 5'3" if she really makes an effort to stand up straight, Mara is short. Maybe it was genetics, maybe it was the mediocre nutrition, whatever. She's made her peace with it. A sturdy frame with hips and modest curves keeps her from seeming petite or elfin. She is wiry and deceptively strong for her size, but… really, she's tiny. It's relative. She's heavily freckled from head to toe, on top of a hard-won bit of tan.
Facial Features
A brown undertone keeps Mara's hair from being a true titian red, but it's still a dark, rich shade. She wears it cropped short, and a hint of curl gives it a perpetually slightly messy look. Her eyes are a warm brown, and her brows and straight mouth give a fairly serious look.
Identifying Characteristics
If the freckles and hair weren't enough, she has a healed scar cutting down across her left cheek. She has a series of four piercings across the cartilage of her ears; all of the earrings are very simple black metal bars or studs. She's distinctive; it's why she tries to wear a hood.
Special abilities
First she was suddenly able to heal herself, which was one thing. You can kinda convince yourself you misjudged how bad the wound was, if you tried really hard. And then she could suddenly sense different emanations coming from some people and environments around her, which was definitely just her imagining things. Stuff glowing and burning with fiery light is less explainable though. Dammit.
Apparel & Accessories
Mara deliberately wears very basic travelers' clothing in browns, tans, and reds - give her all the money in the world, and she'd just improve the quality, not the style. She wears a belted, hooded cloak whenever appropriate, made out of various patches of brown leather. Underneath, she is almost always found in well-worn leather armor, laced with bits of metal for protection. All of her gear seems scuffed and softened with use.
Specialized Equipment
Mara carries twin rapiers and a longbow, but strongly prefers the rapiers. She wears a necklace tucked underneath her armor - a carefully wrought silver sword, with two balanced scales hanging from the cross-guard. It serves as her holy symbol, which is why it's typically out of sight.

A native of Gad Mirrk, Mara has shared that she was born into the slums of Saint Egoroth de Vic, the largest metropolis in the country. She spent the majority of her life in Egoroth before leaving the city a couple years back. She relocated to Gad Mear, another large city in the eastern part of the nation, where she stayed until abducted along with the rest of the Usual Suspects.

Mara has a very reflective personality, requiring time to think things over and come to conclusions. She does trust her instincts in a crisis, at least, and tries to put herself between others and harm's way when she can. She was raised in a rather superstitious environment, and much of that has carried over to the present - she's deeply uncomfortable with about four-fifths of everything that has happened to her recently. Tends to default to a somewhat defensive posture: arms crossed, neutral expression, and she takes that further when upset or alarmed.

Somewhat softspoken, Mara usually listens first and speaks second. Isn't nearly as quiet when her temper is up, but is usually content to swear to herself under her breath (fuckin' magic, ugh).
