Aer Armors

Aer Armor are a dwarven invention: made of steel and Electrum with an Aer tank on the back, they allow their wearer to levitate. Only medium and heavy armor made mostly of metal can be manufactured as Aer Armor.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A lead tank that contains Aer is attached to the back of the wearer. The tank has a pure electrum plug, which holds Aer inside. The plug can be removed as an action, allowing Aer to flow toward the rest of the armor, making the wearer float as per the Levitate spell.
Every hour the pure electrum plug attracts enough Aer from the atmosphere to allow the wearer of the armor to float for up to one minute. The tank can contain enough Aer to make the wearer fly for up to ten consecutive minutes.
Failing a Strenght, Dexterity or Constitution Saving Throw against a spell while the plug is removed from the tank and Aer is flowing on the armor, consumes one minute worth of Aer from the tank.

Raw materials & Components

The armor are made from a specific steel and electrum alloy and must cover at least the wearer's torso, forearms and legs. Every part of the armor must be linked to at least another piece, to allow the passage of Aer.
On the back of the cuirass is installed a lead tank with a pure electrum plug for the storage of Aer.
