Dwarf
The Dwarves are master craftsmen and ingenious inventors. They originally putting up quite a fight against the early Kaitor Empire through the use of their living, feeling war automatae, more commonly known as @[Warforged], the Dwarves ultimately proved themselves of great value to the Empire. Once the war favored the Empress after the final raid on the @[Broken City], she generously proposed to add the Dwarves and much of their cultural practices and beliefs to the growing Kaitor Empire. They hesitantly joined, but found the Empress spoke true and that their lifestyle remained the mostly the same under the rule of the Empress. After centuries, it seemed as though the Dragonborn, Goblins, and Dwarves had always worked together. They were also crucial in assisting the Empire in taming the savage @[Orc] tribes of the great wastes. With the help of the Warforged, they were able to tame and prove that the orcs were on the losing side. Little is known about how the dwarves made their fabled creations, only that the cost is enormous and had great sentimental significance as well. With the orcs sworn to the Empire, the dwarves took their place as the craftsmen, traders, doctors, and teachers of the Empire. They also provided a substantial role in quickly conditioning the orcs to a civilized life they were not accustomed to after years of warring and tribal life in the desert.
Today these hardy folk can be seen in every city of the Empire, making up a healthy chunk of the population of most cities. Generally gruff but helpful to those who seem a trustworthy citizen of the Empire.
