Background

Cara Crichton always felt like an outsider, even amongst Gothamopolis's black community. Since she was 1/4 white, she had lighter skin and straight brown hair. So, she found solace in books.
Books took Cara to all sorts of places, from the American Revolution to Mars. Eventually, when she grew up, she became a librarian. She loved helping students out whether they be superpowered or not. She probably never would have guessed she'd get powers one day.
One night, when Cara was reading at home, she heard a crash outside. When she went out to look, she saw a meteorite. What she didn't see was a puddle of blue ooze that leaked out of the meteorite. So, you can imagine her surprise when the ooze fused with her and forced her to go on a rampage.
Turns out, Cara had bonded with the Adintoiso [AH-deen-TOY-soh], a living weapon created by the Jhinu. It would bond to a random person on another planet, then hijack the person's body, force them to kill everyone with light powers, and then kill the person. After the Jhinu lost control of it, they trapped it in a meteorite and flung it into space.
After defeating Cara with the help of defecting Jhinta Atering Vuvusol, the INSA faculty offered Cara a spot at INSA as the English teacher. She accepted, and now Cara is better known as Snarl.

Personality

Cara used to be sweet and loving. Now that the Adintoiso is bonded to her, she's sweet, loving, and has no willpower. She just can't hold back when fighting. However, she still loves reading in her spare time and always has a literary quote for the situation at hand.

Powers

Cara is bonded to a Jhinu weapon that gives her light powers. She can fire focused blasts of light or illuminate areas.

Appearance

Cara is a lighter-skinned African-American woman with straight white hair (it was brown before she bonded to the Adintoiso), solid blue eyes (again, used to be brown), and an average build. When she lets the Adintoiso take complete control of her, she's covered from head to toe in blue slime with only a white mouth and eyes.
