Southern Ixaili
Here in the jungle where the Ichpui roamIn the dense steam forest Nih Tsoutlà Zauzɤyehqál, the Southern Ixaili dwell. Traditionally, nearly all Southern Ixaili are monks, former monks, or from monk bloodlines. This being due to the settlements in Nih Tsoutlà Zauzɤyehqál being originally monk villages surrounding the Great South Temple. Following the Ixaili Massacre, though, surviving Ixaili of all ethnic groups- excluding Nɤtlwán- have relocated to villages at the north-western foot of Nih Tsoutlà Tuei.

Common Dress code
Unlike other Ixaili groups, the Southern Ixaili tend to bare more skin, due to the humidity and wetness of the rainforest. Keeping chests and lower legs bared is common. Nudity is also not uncommon, but during rituals, ceremonies, and visiting the temple or shrines is highly frowned upon and considered offensive. It is also a superstition that being nude in front of an Ichpui is thought to bring bad luck, as the Ichpui will see it as a sign of disrespect.
