The Ramiota Expanse

The great forest sparsens as it goes further and further north, flattening into rocky flat ground. Not good for growing, but a number of rich mines and mining towns. Further and further north, the ground becomes a maze of jagged hills and cliffs, usually covered with snow. Three paths can traverse this maze, carved out centuries before. The middle path leads to a ruined castle-fortress, and is rumored to be heavily haunted. As the terrain becomes more hazardous, so do the enemies in the area. Mountain cats are common, and rumors of ice trolls and other monsters are often shared.
