We ventured into the mine the following morning.
Didn't appear to had been occupied for a long time, 'least according to the resident historian, Darius. Really got his undergarments in a twist 'bout some dusty old papers. Kept shoving them in every pocket he had, and picking up every little thing littered around the floor. Rambled about some Storm Era "artifacts" and other nonsense, I didn't really see the excitement, it just looked like a lot of abandoned history to me. We left the two men to their excitement, and headed deeper into the mine.
We started seeing the presence of arachnids around the place, webbed up corpses and hallways, as well as some old bones. Poor chap fell down a hole in the floor and never made it out. Looked like a long and painful death. There were also underground springs, freshest water I'd tasted in months. That historian's got some grit in 'im, was quite upset with me luring out the spider. I didn't push back, didn't feel the need to. The spider ended up coming out to greet us by itself anyways, and he even took it down in one hit. I'm keeping my eye on him, I think there's more there than just a strange fascination with the Storm Era.
The druid is good company. Still hasn't gotten the hang of battle yet, but the spirit's there, and I appreciate the enthusiasm. I can't say much about the machinist, aside from his unfortunate lancing abilities. He too appears interested in the ancient, but more specifically gears and parts, who knows what he does with 'em. He doesn't feel like a threat, much less with that buddy of his. None of them do.
I don't see the problem in continuing working with them for the time being. Aside from having to dull myself a little, to avoid getting another scoldin'.
Coin's good and it gives me something to do.
Session 1

I found my way back to St. Davy after my last job in Reynoldston. Figured I'd take the opportunity to rest up and have a few drinks before heading out again, but a couple newcomers caught my eye while making my regular stop at the inn.
Two sharp looking men arguing over some papers, one of which looked more...grounded than the other. Clearly not from around here given by how loud they were talking. The third was...different. Non-human, oddly quiet, one of 'em magic types. Imagine my surprise when I found out they had taken up the bounty Keith sent out.
I decided to join them out of curiosity. To test their mettle in a way, I suppose.
Following through the information given to us by the Sheriff we encountered a few goblins that had made way with gear parts belonging to the many machines across the town. The trial led to a boat at shore and a cart with the bodies of the two boys that were sent to investigate the missing gears. We took the cart back to the Sheriff and returned the gears to the townspeople before heading to the temple to bury the boys.
The trio may not be bounty hunter material but they've got spirit. I'm unsure as to what it is they seek, but it is certainly greater than the mere reward money for the job.
Session 2
19/5 256 P.C
We started the day by burying the boys we found at the shore and handing the heads of the defeated goblins to Keith. He was not amused by the antic, but we got gold for it nonetheless.
He said he'd send a letter out to Capital to get some reinforcements, as he suspects these attacks won't stop entirely. It seems like there's something bigger than we thought happening beneath the surface. In the meantime he sent us to Reynoldston again, to investigate some odd disappearances happening at a local mine. Similar story as the mills, so I suspect they may be connected.
I rented a lovely mare which I've lovingly nicknamed Barbara to attach the cart to, and we headed out of town for the 4-day trip. Trip was uneventful, it was a single state road after all. We made it to the town before sunset of the fourth day and checked in at the Sheriff's office. A Tabaxi gave us more information regarding the disappearances and a voucher to stay at the Glass House Inn.
We spent most of the following day exploring the town and purchasing equipment for the upcoming trip down the mine. Climber's gear was suggested, and I took the opportunity to enhance Deborah a little before continuing.
