New Earth

Earth, 2050.   Not much has changed. Global warming took its toll on this precious planet, forcing costal cities to build underground. After the fall of 2048, the Sovereign (the combined powers of the government and royal family) declared all major cities to evacuate under ground. Apart from that, not much has changed.   Buildings were mass produced in giant 3D printers; they weren't made to last. Families were split up in the evacuation process, leaving children, mothers, sisters and brothers stranded underground. They made robots, too. Robots walked amongst men and could barely be distinguised from them, either.   New Earth was under a state of depression. Like the 1920s, the Sovereign called for nightclubs and bars and casinos to be opened, giving the people of New Earth short term joy, but ultimately dragging them down further into the inky abyss of sadness...
