Siressia

Siressia is the southern most of the kingdoms, and shares a large boarder with most of the Elven lands. Its current ruling house is house Irontide, whose seat is the castle of Ironpoint, named for the large deposits of iron ore their lands. It is also the section of the human lands which boarders on the city of Paragon. As a result of its easy access to trade as well as the large amounts of Iron deposit and other precious metals Siressia is one of the richest of the five kingdoms. It was founded by Charles’s eldest daughter, Sienna, who had fallen in love with an elven prince and wished to be near him. The current ruler is Queen Marguerite Irontide, known to be an expert administrator despite the constant sickness that has plagued her since early childhood. Despite her popularity among the merchant classes, the aristocracy and parts of the peasantry believe her to put the needs of the merchants above their own, as well as the needs of the Elves above her human subjects. Their motto is “To prosper and thrive”.

History

Originally part of the lands conquered by Robert the Forger, Siressia became an independent Kingdom when Robert's grandson Charles split the lands of his grandfather between his five children. Siressia was the chosen kingdom of his second child, Queen Sienna.

Agriculture & Industry

Though Siressia is the most urbanized of the five human kingdoms, they are still predominantly a feudal, agriculturally based nation. Their three main crops are wheat, barley and oats.   In terms of raw materials Siressia's most valuable commodity by far is iron, followed closely by copper, tin and silver.   The number of canals that flow through Siressia, particularly it's capital city of Urba, mean Siressia is the vibrant trading hub of the Alliance, making much of their money from goods tax on the exports that flow through their land.

Trade & Transport

As a member of The Alliance, Siressia is able to conduct prime trade with the other member states in return for contributing resources into a communal pot to be distributed to the members of The Alliance who need it. Siressia has a major advantage in this arrangement due to their extensive canal network, which is used to transport goods across the Alliance.
