Erellion

Erellion surrounds the independent city of Magnus Magi. Its current ruling house is house Ruddermark, whose seat is the castle of Maywood, one of the oldest castles in the human lands. It has cultivated a close relationship with Magnus Magi, and as a result it is the most secretive of the five cities, refusing to share the magical secret they have learnt from them. Their strongest economic resources are both stone and textiles, and politically they tend to side with Magnus Magi, for obvious reasons. It was founded by Charles’s youngest daughter Karinnia, a mage who wished to create a safe haven where her people could thrive. The current ruler of Erellion is Queen Elaine Ruddermark, an eleven-year-old girl ascended to the throne at a young age after disease wiped out most of the ruling house. Despite her age, Queen Elaine has displayed a natural talent for ruling thus far, as well as placing her trust in competent advisors. Their motto is “We rise from the ashes”.

History

Originally part of the lands conquered by Robert the Forger, Erellion became an independent Kingdom when Robert's grandson Charles split the lands of his grandfather between his five children. Urivale was the chosen seat of his fourth child, Queen Karinnia.

Agriculture & Industry

As a feudal nation Erellion is primarily agriculturally focused, with wheat, barley and oats being the most common crops. However, their mountainous homeland means that the soil quality varies wildly, making agriculture difficult in many parts of the Kingdom. Of the five human kingdoms they rely most on food imports. Their most common livestock is goats, who are well suited to the mountainous terrain.

In terms of raw materials Erellion's biggest resource is it's quarries. The most valuable of these are the marble quarries, but many kinds of stone are also mined in Erellion.

Trade & Transport

As a member of The Alliance, Erellion is able to conduct prime trade with the other member states in return for contributing resources into a communal pot to be distributed to the members of The Alliance who need it.
