The Border

A long row of ancient stone spires encircling Forbidden Forest ; 20-50 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and 2 feet apart. They stand in a perfect row, seemingly infinitely in either direction, despite the uneven ground and trees trying to grow between them. (They're sunk too deep into the ground to be bothered by the overgrown forest around them.) In inhabited areas, they're blocked by a chain-link fence with 'keep out' signs stapled to it. In uninhabited areas, there is no fence, just the spires.
