Merinian

A collective term for two cultures directly to the southeast of the Querian Empire, Merinians are known for being staunchly anti-Empire and anti-Magi. The most technologically advanced culture on Neria, they place great value on science and technology and denounce The Old Magi as important figures, considering them to be regular Magi who were elevated by a general misunderstanding of their power. While the Old Magi are accepted to be the most likely cause of the Great Cataclysm, the existance of the Sixth Magi is debated and doubted, and the Cataclysm itself is considered to be an incident as consequence of the great, untamed power -- considering the use of Éla to be closer to a disorder than a natural gift.

Qere-Merinian

The Qere-Merinians are a sub-ethnic group of Merinians characterised by longer faces and darker skin. Though they share a large amount of their borders with the Querian Empire, their borders are tightly locked and consider the Querians to be little more than business partners for imports such as precious metals.

Arkhe-Merinian

Residing primarily on the southeast end of the continent, the Arkhe-Merinian are best identified by their rounded, softer faces, freckles and larger eyes. Their main export is in fishing and trade with other cultures, as the waters surrounding their shores are rich in minerals and sea life.
