Midlands

The central region of Nerasia

The Midlands (also known as The Wastes) are a dangerous region of desert, rocky canyons, and volcanic activity to the south. The southern part of the Midlands, often nicknamed the Ash Lands, features gorges that glow with red lava, hills that release clouds of ash, spewing geysers, and burning hot, brightly colorful lakes. Most of the Midlands consist of near-endless, craggy rock and clay formations. There are no roads or cities, but that does not mean this region is uninhabited by humans. Many nomadic tribes roam through here, as do bandits and outlaws. Near the color lakes live sedentary people in small villages.
