Kahr
An eastern region of Nerasia
Kahr is the oldest region in Nerasia, featuring the very first cities to be formed on the continent. Civilization is centered around two major rivers that flow from the massive, snow-capped Majria Mountains to the west into the impassive eastern sea. The land around these rivers is lush, fertile, and semi-tropical.
To the south, the grassy Arik Plains stretch to the desert land of Urrum; to the north, a tangled wilderness extends to the bogs and jungles of the Ikani Forest region.
In the Early and Imperial ages, Kahr is populated by independent city-states. In the Kingdom Age, these cities merge into two great kingdoms: Ruik (situated around the Dayr Sea and Nakapa River to the south) and Hapturum (situated around the Haptya River to the north).
Geography
Close to the mountains you will find great open, flowering meadows, lush forests, and small villages. As you travel eastward, the air will grow warmer, the roads wider and more populated, and the forests more infrequent. Southward the Arik Plains transition to desert; northward, a thick, difficult-to-tame wilderness forms a moderate buffer between Kahr and Ikani civilizations. That being said, these civilizations are still connected via road in a trade network.
Fauna & Flora
Kahr is famous for a number of flowers, found mostly in the north, that be crushed and turned into vivid dyes. These dyes play a pivotal role in Haptian culture.
