Nemesis, Eorthe

Forever in the shadow of Chaos, so exactly adjacent Earth, Eorthe is strangely familiar and completely at odds to everything that is known to be true. Populated by dragons, elves, humans, and other fantasy races, the people managed to evolve and survive past that mystical cut off date where the magic dies in other worlds.   Eorthe becomes Nature's and Order's greatest accomplishment after Chaos personified itself in a bid to turn the entire reality to exist in itself. In its defeat, it was banished from the world, and now has little effect upon the people.   A reality without balance is doomed to failure, and so, cracks form, allowing the touch of chaos to repair the world even as it struggles to destroy it. Lacking guidance and control, Balance swings wildly.   Without knowing this deep lore which even the gods are uncertain of, the people of Eorthe continue on.   And then, as steam power is on the rise, three hapless souls find themselves harnessed to the chaos effect.   They just want to play music, saving the world isn't really on their agenda.
