Prothaidia City

Prothaidia City is the last elvish metropolis on Daemos, having weathered countless millenia it is now the bastion of elven culture on the continent and the capital city of The Kingdom of Prothaidia.

History

Prothaidia is one of the original elven settlements during the Coming of the Elves, it has grown countless times since its inception as a small settlement and by 142BGD while not the largest of cities within the Elven Empire still held much sway within it. During the Age of Elves and Magic the cities mix of High Elf and Wood Elf culture allowed it to truly flourish, becoming a symbol of unity between the two increasingly divided subraces and by 670AGD it had become the main seat of power for the Sudelf Empire.
Come the Heavenfall Comet Event in 1060AGD shockwaves were felt throughout the entirety of Daemos and while not taking the brunt of the cataclysmic event Prothaidia was not spared the quakes and aftershocks caused by large comet shards striking the earth, causing great damage to the city and grand forest surrounding it. If this was not dire enough in the years to come refugees fleeing the chaos of the now dying Nordalf empire would swell the already overburdened city. It would take half a millenia to return the city to its former glory.
The Sudelf Empire would take part in the defence against the First Demonic Invasions, after seeing value in an alliance with those races they deem as lesser. Many contingiencies from Prothaidia would take part in the war and many of the oldest and wisest warriors of the city would be lost, bringing a great blow to moal of the densiens of the city despite the great victory being won through the combined efforts of the kingdoms of Daemos.
By the 3500s AGD The city of Prothaidia was the grandest of all elven settlements and rivaled the greatest cities in both Daemos and long forgotten lands of Demos. But when the Dragon Lords came to claim lordship over all in Daemos the Sudelf empire would lose the last of their lands outside of Prothaidia after being unable to beat back the nefarious dragons and their relentless armies as they reached the Northern Sudelf Forest and reducing the city of Sudelfia to ash, leaving Prothaidia and its forest to become the last remenants of the great Sudelf Empire, eventualy becoming known to all as The Kingdom of Prothaidia.
