Asgardium
The new. The saviour. The weapon. The Music.
Asgardium is a recent discovery, made in 1382 AP by Saalskarg expedition, headed by a professor Johan Stahlquist. In an accident that involved a guitar and a snowy mountain, the expedition found the material that reacted to it. Through a meticulous research that lasted 5 years, it slowly revolutionized the fuel industry, suggesting it as a replacement for coal. The sound reaction is a major problem of its exploitation, although some measures and appliances have been found to mitigate or even take the advantage of this peculiar properties
Properties
Material Characteristics
It's a matte-covered rock-like substance, which has a multitude of colors, depending on the location and changing, according to the sound.
Physical & Chemical Properties
It is metallic in physical sense. Contains a high energy yield (similar to Hydrogen-3 or Uranium). Non-radioactive (as if that definition exists within the world's timeline), but it violently reacts to sound, depending on the richness of the material and tuning.
Compounds
Usually can be made into alloys containing bronze, steel and iron. Titanium and vanadium can also be used. Makes the material subceptible to sound. Depending on the composition of the sound, it can either harden, soften or outright explode. In alloy form, Asgardium forms the lines, which change shape, according to the sound.
Geology & Geography
While found in small quantities in the mountains, it's mostly mined in the Floating Fields that dot the landscapes. The eponymous "floating" is a nuisance, since flying workers are hardly productive.
