The Quarternary

The Quarternary is a revered guild of Four Sorcerers. Members of the Quarternary wear an amulet that at the north is a sun made of gold, to the east, a maple leaf of bronze, to the south a snowflake made of platinum, and the the west a raindrop made of electrum.

Purpose: The Quarternary is comprised of four experienced Sorcerers who when inducted into the order forsake their name and take the name of the Season that they represent. On the material plane of Nareede during their season the Sorcer will leave the plane of Limbo, where their fortress resides to go where their ability can best be used. They often go to places ravaged by war, disease, famine, or where they can generally serve the population and act as leadership and begin using their magic to aid the region in need.
Structure: There is one Sorcerer for each season, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and spring. Each sorcerer chooses four apprentices to aid them in their cause and to compete to be promoted to the esteemed position their master holds. If an apprentice is killed or lost for any reason they are not replaced until all four are lost, at which point the master will select four more apprentices.
