Divine imagery of Skormir's Children

Despite having very little active influence in the worlds, several cultures that believe in their existence have attempted to draw and characterise the four as god-like entites. While Skormir's children don't really have form, this does not stop visual creatures from attempting to describe them physically. This is the case in tariksan, although such images are frowned upon by the academically inclined as merely fairy stories.

The physical forms of Skormir's children that are recognised around Tariksan originated in the Qel'Barala, their current versions based on a since-fallen civilisation who's divine connection was mainly druidic and monastic. In reality the only truth in the descriptions comes from breif glimpses of the creators' servants, seen by great sages in their probing of the depths of the astral sea.

{These descriptions are heavily based on various ideas about "real-world" entities that I thought were cool as heck, and inspired me to give Skormir's children images in the first place. My source is given in italics for each one, hope thats alright with everyone.}

Samdin, the striver

Samdin is drawn as concentric rings that constantly rotate and twist, covered in eyes and bathed in a golden glow. In the center of the rings a white light pulses in a heartbeat that echos in your mind and fills the souls of those who hear it with energy and resolve. {Samdin is based on a christian angelic description.}

Janzil, the changer

Janzil is though of an enourmous feathered serpent, with a plume of feathers on the top of his head and the end of his tail. It is impossible to trace how the coils of his body would unravel to become one line, as they are so intertwined, and his clear black eyes reflect not what is, but what it could be. {Janzil is based on a snake form of the aztec deity Quetzalcoatl.}

Vathelod, the singer

Images of Vathelod show her as mostly humanoid (with no sex characteristics), with six arms and a tree growing from each shoulder that is twice as tall as the rest of her body. She has extra mouths in the all the spaces between her ribs. Despite that slightly alarming detail, Vathelod is the only Child to be described as beatiful. {Vathelod is vaguly inspired by a Goddess of the anceint mesoamerican city Teotihuacan.}

Corbaltiss, the devourer

Corbaltiss has a less defined "body" than her counterparts, being a heaving mass of exposed muscle, bones and mouths. She pulls herself along the ground with flayed, claw-like arms, making a low groan that fills those that hear it with mindless destructive desire and longing. Her more prominent mouths are long-snouted (similar to crocodile and dog mouths), but in the crevices of her torn body are smaller, less prominent mouths full of needle-like teeth. {Corbaltiss is a combination of a gibbering mouther from DnD and the aztec monster Cipactli.}
