The islands of So'Karsa, a small remnant of the greater Neronian-controlled world of Neteras, are shunted into the void between realities to survive the coming of the Great Shadow. The rest of Neteras is destroyed by the Great Shadow. The imperial family of So'Karsa sacrifices their existence to ensure the Neronian race survives.
