Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Across all of Shushar people speak Shun; however some words and quirks are different in their different clans and regions. The accent and dialect of the Shu people and the Sandari people when they speak Shun is quite a large variation, these listed dialects are only small variations in comparison.
Dragon Speak - People of the Dragon have the most distinct dialect in Shushar. They use a plethora of Elder words in their common conversation which are not typical to hear. They have some idiosyncratic expressions that no one else really understands. Many Dragon Clansfolk speak with a noticeable lack of modulation in their voice.
Lake of Souls - Those from the Crane Clan and more specifically from the Lake of Souls speak in a very particular way, every consonant is heard clearly and they don't slur their words together like the Crab.
Excant - The Expedition runners of the Crab have developed hundreds of code words to communicate complex manouvers in battle over time these found their way into common speech developing new meanings. The Expedition runners and the Crab people are known for saying -- what they claim is -- a lot in little words, but usually no one understands what they're talking about. For example "dragpaw the flurry over mate" which means "can you tie these logs together and give me a hand carrying them"

Often what is seen as beautiful is what the clansfolk see as close to the pure bloodline of the respective clan.
Crane Clan - small nose, sharp features, slenderness, straight dark hair
Lion Clan - broad frame, toned body, wavy brown or light hair, prominent features
