The Trials of the Prime-Reptile

Every hundred years or so the great Lizard Thar'yah sends her champion to earth to fight and vanquish the former Prime-Reptile and to claim dominion of the jungles of Feron, however if the former Prime-Reptile manages to survive and conquer this newfound foe, he or she absorbs the powers of Thar'yah's newest champion and becomes invigorated by eating its heart to rule for another hundred years, before the next champion emerges from the junglelands, the current Prime-Reptile Zamoja is said to have lived for 400 years, surpassing 3 champions and awaiting his next trial.
Usually the Trials of the Prime-Reptile lasts for months where the two champions of Thar'yah fight without pause, both formidable fighters in their own right, one with strength and youth, the other with experience and tactic, once a champion has been slain, everyone from the tribe takes part in feasting on the flesh, the heart reserved for the Prime-Reptile for this inherit the strength of the defeated one.
On one such occasion a lower lizardian tried to eat this heart, he managed to take one bite before he was viciously torn to shreds, however the powers from the heart sustained him enough to feel everything, even as his head was ripped off, he could still feel the torment of his limbs being pulled from his body, one by one.

Historical Basis

This is but a myth for any but those that live in Feron themselves, however not many other than Lizardians reside here, as they are terrible hostile to outsiders, and will club them and offer them as tribute to the Prime-Reptile, therefore no-one has ever witnessed this, but the tale still lives on to scare anyone from entering the savage world of Feron.

Mostly everyone in the world of Mythra has heard tales of the great Prime-Reptile, many have tried to conquer the land, but ultimately failed, as soon as the Prime-Reptile entered the fray, the attackers knew that it was their doom. This was many, many years ago, and no one has dared to enter Feron with force ever since.
