Vakatowsis
When the titans first came into being, the dragons were among them. This includes the first dragons Bahamut and Tiamat. Different sects of dragons revere them each in different ways, but from one or the other, every dragon is related to the first draconic siblings.
Far later, both Bahamut and Tiamat disappeared. Legends are told of what could have happened, but no one knows for sure, and this date of disappearance sparked a holiday celebrated by all dragonkin. Every decade dragons from all around gather in their most luxurious lairs to hold banquets to honour their creation at the hand of the gods, and to honour the disappearance of Bahamut and Tiamat, hoping that they one day return.
These banquets are a chance for dragons to catch up with what they have been up to over the last decade, and what they plan to do in the coming decade as well as sharing their most lavish meals and showing off some of their vast wealth. On the final day of the 3 day event, dragons give offerings to beckon Tiamat and Bahamut home. For dragonborn, the event is a time to earn favour with their plixsa by giving gifts and performing admirably, they also spend this time having lavish meals of their own because Bahamut and Tiamat are their ancestors and this is a day celebrating their origin as well. Finally, for kobolds the event is a time of servitude to their plixsa where they rarely get a free moment, but when they do they also give thanks to the gods and to Bahamut and Tiamat.
During the celebrations, dragons will invite their biggest rivals, and their biggest allies to their banquets, along with the katihe they respect the most to represent their dragonborn and kobold subjects. It is considered to be the highest honour a dragon can bestow upon an outsider, to invite them to their Vakatowsis celebrations. It however can be a dangerous event to attend if you are not fully familiar with ettiquette. Kobolds will often steal food during the even and it may usually go unnoticed because of their small size, but when it does not it ends in a squash.
History
The tradition began milleniums ago after the disappearance of Bahamut and Tiamat, commemorating the date they disappeared rather than the date dragons were first brought into this world, due to that date being forgotten during the age of lost.
The holiday began with dragons leaving out offerings to try and entice Bahamut and Tiamat into returning for the kin they had abandonned, but overtime warped into a celebration of life, and a banquet for the hatching of the twins.
Gifting from dragonborn came in centuries later. It arose in harsher draconic settlements where dragonborn would try to appease their plixsa with gifts, and capitolise on the event to make it go over well. In coming centuries it started to become regular and through word of mouth at banquets it spread to other settlements which weren't doing it before until it became a regular part of the tradition.
Execution
Dragon planners prepare for their banquets weeks, and often months before the Vakatowsis to make sure everything is in order for their guests. The event only happens once each decade, and the impressions from it will last that whole decade and beyond. The first day is typically a standard party where people speak with one another and lay in information they wish for others to know or use, usually saving the biggest information to drop in this event. Dragons also show or speak of new wealth they have acquired on the first day. On the second day it is an all day banquet of lavish food, and it is considered poor taste to poison any of it. And on the third day dragons give offerings to Tiamat and Bahamut by either disposing of them into an elemental geyser, or by simply destroying them. The affair of offerings usually lasts the entire day due to the amount of dragons gathered and the amount of deiberation on what to offer.
Dragonborn and Kobold keep up similar schedules, with kobolds typically being servants to the dragons. Dragonborn often only do formal celebrations on one-two of the three days of vakatowsis however due to less need for the political first day. Additionally, their offerings are usually for their plixsa instead of to Bahamut and Tiamat. For kobolds it is a time to stay out of sight and keep the event running, though they will usually still try to steal food and sometimes sneak their own offerings in with the dragons. However doing these things is dangerous and can lead to death if a kobold is not careful.
