Titan Blood

Titan Blood is a potent magical substance used for various purposes in the planescape of Mytharia. Some use large servings of it to pierce the veil between planes, while others use it as a dangerous drug to gain power.
While large doses are used to pierce the walls between planes, other dosages of varrying sizes are used as an addictive drug which grants or enhances spellcasting. Titan blood is often treated as a pure catalyst for Magic within the soul, but when it finishes burning the last remnants burn the user as well.
The drug is most commonly taken in small, often survivable doses coming in vials or syringes. Upon injection or drinkage a creatures eyes glow bright as do the veins in their face and chest, as well as around the injection site if there is one. The drug takes effect immediately causing power to flare within them, manifesting in ways that are different depending on what form of titan the blood comes from. The blood of a Dragon may cause scale growth or discolouration in the skin as you suddenly gain the ability to produce effects similar to its breath weapon.
In its most Common dosage it lasts 10 minutes, during which time the user will become more erratic and itch to burn up the energy within them. As a creature projects the energy of the drug outward veins will glow wherever it moves through or out of their body. Scars can often appear in users in these areas after prolonged use.
Once the drug wears off is when its most deadly as your body will burn up from the inside out looking for the energy it had moments earlier. Most adventurers survive a first dose, but often the unprepared aren't so lucky, being consumed by their own soul flaring out of the orifices in their face and off their hands.

History

The effects of titan blood have been seen throughout history, used by queens and kings before much was known about titans themselves. Titan blood would however become more well known after The Planaclysm when titans crossed over to Mytharia en masse.
Historical accounts are murky but there is some rumour of a town during the planaclysm which was experiencing a famine before the corpse of a felled titan fell upon it. The townspeople feasted upon its flesh and gained the fantastical powers of the titan but within days they had all burned up from the inside out.
In the present, titan blood is a substance traded for high prices in the black markets to any adventurer or otherwise who wishes the boon of its power, and the downfall of its flaws upon themselves.
