This locket is a black metal rectangle with an opening and closing compartment using a latch and a door. Inside the compartments door is a simple mirror that reflects an idealised version of the wearer’s life. Inside the compartment, is a translucent purple heart actively beating and pumping ooze throughout the inner workings of the locket. To attune to this item, you must give up a major memory of significant sentimental value to you. Upon forgetting this, no magic other than a wish spell can restore it. If the memory is restored while you remain attuned to the item, your attunement breaks. Each year you remain attuned to this locket, another memory is consumed.
While attuned to this item, you have advantage on saving throws against effects that would alter your memories. Additionally, you have resistance to poison damage and advantage against being poisoned.
If you would die while attuned to this locket, you become stabilised unconscious and the heart in the locket shrivels up and stops beating, causing a version of you in another timeline to die in your place. Once the locket has been used in this way, it cannot be used again in this way until it has consumed another memory.
Once attuned to this item, you cannot willingly unattune from it and will not want to part with it. To break attunement with it you must consume the blood of the creature whose heart is contained in the locket and have remove curse cast upon you. Alternatively, The Lord of Illusions or an emissary of the god can break your attunement with the locket.
