The Voidstone
The Voidstone is a large, arcing section of black obsidian rock in the middle of a granite cliff face high in the northern spurs of the Backridge Mountains. This mysteriously flat section of rock, defined by sharp, clean edges between the two types of rock, has no visible cracks or openings, and has remained seemingly untouched by time for generations.
History
The Voidstone is a large, obsidian formation in the Northern spur of the Backridge Mountains. Its unnatural melding with the granite cliffs around it, with sharply distinct edges and a strangely arched shape, is traditionally explained as the original site of the portal to the Void.
Tourism
The Voidstone is a common pilgrimage for many. Historians and archeologists searching for secrets of the past, paladins seeking to honor the Avenging Angels of the past, and mages reminding themselves that there are things that must never be meddled with are just a few of the people who climb the heights of the Backridge Mountains each year. These pilgrims bring much needed business to the tiny village of Charvin, and are responsible for the existence of the Blackstone Inn, located halfway up the trail to the Voidstone.
