Central Isvieldara

By Konrad Bennett Hughes
Near the center of Isvieldara, the Nala River flows from the Dimil loc in the center of Isvieldara out to the North Mare'On. The Loc is always covered in mists except during the Noon hour, when the sun burns the fogs away. It is a dangerous passage even for the most stout adventurers.
‌ To the south of the mouth Loc lays the enchanted Isvield Forest where the elven enclave is hidden. However, the north part of the forest has sunk into the Loc turning into a Cursed Swamp. Many say that the ancient towers of Disterborg, Korkadad and Symmara are the source of this blight upon the wood, but none dare venture into those haunted spires.
‌ To the north of the Dimil Loc the Oska Skog lies tucked up under the looming mountains of the Oska Bergs. Between the Wazzle infested woods and the Giant Lands in the mountains an ancient ruined city is rumored to house a Red Dragon and her brood.
‌ East of the Oska Skogs Barbani from the wilds have set up a small trading village which they so creatively named Barbrandium on the banks of the Ovander River near the Plains of Animae, where the Snorses roam wild. These Barbani are dangerous to travelers but seem to have good relations with the gnomish Tomte who mine in the foothills of the mountains.
‌ As the Nala River flows eastward from the Loc it passes through a ravine just south of Forstora's Wrath. The old castles of Syddara and Beskyda flank this ravine, looming over any who pass below from their high perches. A third tower is akin to these two but somewhat larger, Bavarborg, that watches over the Stormbringer's Trail.
‌ Forstora's Wrath is a collection of jagged low mountains and escarpments with a host of small rivers and streams flowing through it. The winds that carve through this rock are so strong that many have been known to be blown off the walls of the fortresses in ancient times.
‌ The town of Oskamark sits just north of the Nala River. It once served as a well known trading post for merchants going north, but today is nearly a ghost town. Few travel through here and even fewer return home as the dangers in this area and many and the safe places are few.
‌ Only the bravet adventurers venture int these lands these days, as rumors of Wazzle raids, Barbani hordes, and Dragon's wrath circulate all around Isvieldara.
