The Islands of Runehaven
Where wizards reign.
Runehaven
The floating islands known as Runehaven are believed to originally be from another realm. However, Runehaven has been integrated into the realm of Mynthris for several decades. Since Runehavens appearance in the skies of Mynthris, it has been the subject of countless rumors and tales. Runehaven is run by a magocratic oligarchy representative of every facet of life from agriculture to defense. While the islands of Runehaven have amassed a gargantuan collection of Mynthris’ history and arcane knowledge rarely do they directly share with others, preferring to usually be a neutral party in the machinations of the nations they float over.
Structure
Cordelia d’Reverence: Minister of Communication
Chaotic Neutral, Human
The adopted younger sister to Moria Reverence, although you'd never know she was younger by the way she scolds Moira. Cordelia is a very measured and analytical woman responsible for running and maintaining the unorthodox conglomerate that is House Reverence.
Moira Reverence: The Steel Scribe
Chaotic Good, Half-Dragon/Tiefling
The Eldest child of House Reverence, Moria is a free spirit. She is currently traveling throughout the Florean Empire checking in on various research projects and magical disturbances. She is traveling with her partner the marksman Fabian Loup and her floating island home Mai Mai.
Culture
The magocracy of Runehaven is interested in the long game on an almost grandiose scale. While independent resident mages might have their own goals. The ruling House Reverence focuses on the arcane services it’s members provide. Common Runehavians on the other hand by and large prefer staunch neutrality in most political cases, literally floating above many problems on the surface beneath them. However, one unwavering goal of Runehaven is the assessment and collection of powerful magical artifacts, knowledge, or esoterica. Much of the time representatives of Runehaven simply request access to study an arcane object or site, but in rare circumstances where the artifact has been deemed highly dangerous Runehaven has been known to disregard all sovereign law and forcefully remove said artifacts from the possession of other peoples and governments.
