Northern Seat of Power - Maragarde

Maragarde, The Northern Kingdoms Seat of Power, A conglomerate of many races that live in the heavy vegetated Mountains and Valleys that dominate the Northern Landscape. Much of the Northern continent has not been thoroughly explored due to the Badlands just beyond their Southern borders. The Badlands are a rocky, dry almost desertous area that has large stone formations that reach 1000 feet high, and paths and roads that twist and turn throughout the Badlands. If you are not an experienced Adventurer this will become very confusing very quickly... Some say there are Spirits that haunt the Badlands devouring lost souls, only when the moon is full and at its highest in the sky.   Maragarde is made up of such races as Elves, Dwarves, Lycans, Ursenthropes, Dryads, and even Vampires... All living in a relative peace deep within the Northern parts of Theros. With Maragarde as the gathering point near the Northern shores, it became a place of exotics and great commerce, some say that its Mercantile atmosphere adds to the high energy that so many races have found equal ground on. Some say this Mecca of Merchants have been part of this region for centuries, some dating back 100,000 years before the Shadow Wars. Yet even during the Dark era Maragarde prospered. The greed knows no bounds in these parts, many are out to only make coin.   There is a very rich culture of Nobility and Honor that emanates from Maragarde could make some sick, yet this crossroad trading post has kept a reputation of cleanliness, to the point of obsession. No wonder these peoples have been both feared and revered throughout recent history of Theros. Their influence even reaches throughout all of the Badlands, being the main sponsor behind the untold riches that hide below the lands that have been pummelled throughout time, creating high density metals and ores, rare resources and minerals, a truly natural treasure trove that has seen its fair share of destruction.
