Axel of Mauler
Lord Axel Mauler
The eldest son of the mauler duchy, a promising young man with a bright future ahead of him. Like his father, his hair is white as snow, and he wears clothes unbefitting a lumberjack, with a white cloak and tunic and long black pants. He is the pride of Badgerhold, for he is one of the few that might have the strength to leave this cursed village.
Physical Description
Body Features
Axel is a young man of healthy build, standing at a respectible 6'1", fit for battle and for work. Though it's clear he is of higher birth, his skin is fair and his hair is radient.
Facial Features
One may call his face 'plain', but that wouldn't be entirely correct; his face is clear of any noticable imperfections, no moles nor freckles, it's skin that glistens. He has his father's narrow, calculating eyes and medium high cheekbones that give his face the slightest angle, and a thinly nose at the center of it all.
Physical quirks
While he is stoic, he isn't immune to smiling. Though he has a misleading face, sometimes looking smug or even a bit sinister when he smiles, often with his head tilted down and to the side, looking at the ground, the slightest curve to teh edges of his lips.
Apparel & Accessories
Axel wears a pristine white tunic and long white cloak furs blended in. He wears a set of long black pants and durable boots. With his head held high, he wields any assortment of weapons, whether it be his longsword on his hip, greataxe and shield on his back.

Personal history
Axel was born within the town of badgerhold, and has thus lived a sheltered life within the town's walls. Despite a childhood surrounded by the town's walls, he has accepted his place in his sociaty. He was trained early in his life by his father, Gustaf to defend himself, and soon how to defend others. He quickly became the pride and joy of his quiet town as perhaps the boy that might escape the dreary life of this backwater hamlet.
Education
Unlike his father, he was taught how to read and write at a young age, both in greengrave's common tongue as well as old common, much like nobility within the walls of Rotgard. He has been educated in many forms of combat, whether sword and shield, polearms, or the family's weapon, a greataxe. Out of those, his experience with the axe and his impressive footwork is what he defaults to. However he is also been taught typical noble ediquite by his mother, among other things a young heir should know.
Employment
Axel has seen gainful empoloyment among his humble town, whether it be physical labor, cutting odwn omenwood trees with the lumberjacks, or hunting stray wolves and giant badgers. Though he gains most of his earnings through working with the adventurers guild after the branch in badgerhold was constructed, using it as a means to gain battle experience and to not fully rely on the earnings and legend of his father, to hopefully make a name for himself and distract the public eye from certain other idnividuals within the family.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Through monster slaying outside the imidiate palisade of badgerhold, he has killed wolves and giant creatures, bring home their pelts as proof of his accomplishments. Though his father makes a note of never letting him go outside the walls without a group of other young warriors as backup.
Intellectual Characteristics
Axel is what many would call the 'strong, silent type'. He is a stoic young man with a steel trap for a mind. He often doesn't emote, aside from the occasional smile, but he can often be caught in deep thought, walking throughout the roads.
Morality & Philosophy
Gustaf raised the boy right as a many of action but also one of caution. Axel has a healthy moral compass, he cares for the safety of his family and his people, and would stop at nothing to protect them. However while Axel is a good man, his father's beliefs have rubbed off on him somewhat. He's estranged from his sister and finds demihumans awkward to deal with, as they ride the line between human and monster like a rightrope. But he still feels they need to be protected, just like any other life. Though he can't quite say the same about a certain person who has taken up residence within the town of badgerhold. There is a line between human and monster, and she is no human.

Motivation
Axel wishes to make his village proud, to make them feel safe in this dangerous world, even if only in his meager ways. He wishes to protect.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
HAving grown up upper class when compared to the woodsmen of his home, he's not as inept at knowing the price of things. He carries silver and gold coins, and can forget that most who live in badgerhold are lucky to see even a silver piece.
Personality Quirks
At all times, the duke's son has a tendancy to hold himself with a straight posture, tall and proud as they say. Though he can be found scratching between the knuckles of his hands at times, or putting his elbows on the table when he loses himself in thought.
Hygiene
HAving access to warm water, and better yet; soap, lends well into looking like a Duke's son. Now if only his father would do the same...

Family Ties
The Mauler family is not the most expansive as far as nobles go, but he has a good relationship with his mother and father, and his younger brother. He has never met his uncle, and his relationship with his sister is estranged at best.
Religious Views
Axel believes in the power of the goddess of light, and hopes not to stray from her path. However, he follows no specific doctrine nor dogma.
Social Aptitude
While by no means an extrovert, he can carry a conversation with relative ease. Though he is mostly on the recieving end of a conversation and rarely the one speaking, for better or for worse.
Mannerisms
He tries to speak in a way that is pleasent for the person he's talking to. While he rarely holds a bad opinion on anyone, he'll agree with a person's opinion during a conversation, but not validate it. If it moves the conversation or ends it, he'll use that to his advantage. He is the definition of talking into a brick wall.
