General Magic
Magic is believed to be a gift from the god of wisdom as a show of what the gods could do to help the humans. Maiito believed that magic shouldn’t just belong to the gods so granted the ability to do all magic in the form of small magics to humans. As the gifted humans had children, their magical abilities began to grow and the first specialist mages came to be. Magic is passed down hereditarily but it very often skips generations so this isn't always noticeable but can cause some alterations in magic.
The Types of Magic
Small Magic Small magics are magics that can be used by any mage. Any form of magic that can be used by a specialised mage can be used in a more basic form by any mage. This means that a wind mage could create a small fire and heal a minor injury but their attempts would not be as strong as if they were a fire mage or a healer. Another form of small magic is the ability to read auras. This isn’t considered a normal magic, in fact non-mages can learn to read magical auras too, but people have to train this skill up. Elemental magic is the easiest to sense with the magical types having the strongest resonance but all magic emits some sort of aura. With the right training, a mage can learn to put up a ward against other people sensing for their magic but a competent mage would be able to sense a ward was in place if not the type of magic the mage had. Elemental Magic Elemental magic is the most commonly inherited magic. It can be split into six different general types of mage:- Light
- Dark
- Earth
- Fire
- Wind
- Water
- Void: a spectral magic that is often mistaken for dark magic. Void magic allows the mage to interact with a spectral plane to move invisibly or to affect things going on in the living plane.
- Healing: Regenerative magic capable of nursing a living being’s physical and magical condition back to health or as close as possible.
- Prophetic: Clairvoyant magic that allows the mage to see into the future or into the past if they know what they are looking for.
- Transformation: Shapeshifting magic that allows the mage to rewrite the physical composition of organisms both living and inanimate provided the object or being they are trying to transform into isn’t magical.
- Shamanism: A naturally influenced more general form of magic that gives mages the ability to perform the smaller magics on a stronger scale as well as some prophetic magic.
- Life: Spiritually manipulative magic that can alter the soul and mind, for instance, a life mage can control a person to do as the mage wishes with no resistance provided they are touching them.
- Death: Physically manipulative magic that can control flesh and lifespans, for instance, a death mage could create a zombie or tell how someone died.
- Blood: Similar to life magic, blood magic can allow a mage to control any being, however, blood magic works through the mage having some of their victim’s blood. They do not have to be near their victim for this magic to work.
