The Beyond

The Beyond is the realm of souls and the deities, immaterial and chaotic in nature. Instead of a physical journey, traveling in The Beyond requires the extertion of one's mind and focus. Destinations are reached by imagining them. Because of this, it is not possible to gauge the exact dimensions of The Beyond.
The domains of the gods bring order to this otherwise shapeless void. The extent of these domains wax and wane as the gods compete for power and kith worshippers. At their smallest they are the size of settlements or cities, but can be as large as a small realm.

Domains

  • Guthnoc's Keep: A great convoluted keep, with seemingly endless layers of walls and courtyards. Guthnoc's servants patrol its hallways and gates, keeping eternal vigil over their lord's domain.
  • Riaghail's Feast Hall: An enormous hall, its roof massive and arched like the upturned hull of a colossal wooden ship. The air smells of smoked meats and beer, and its inhabitants feast and celebrate without end.
  • Onora's Haven: The Haven is a massive, circular and multi-leveled building with an open courtyard in the middle, bathed in the glow of the setting sun. It is said that the doors of this place lead the person to where their heart truly desires.
  • Argadain's Gates: A pair of vast gates, surrounded by a sprawling settlement, built by the dead waiting for their chance at reincarnation.
  • Gowyr's Forge: A great anthill-like complex of forges that billow smoke and heat. The clang of metal is ever-present and cacophonous, as the servants of Gowyr feverishly work to create the most wondrous of artifacts.
  • Gwilha's Lagoon: A pristine lagoon of clear, warm waters. The waves lap gently at its shores, and a great calm comes over all who reside here.
  • Bleddyn's Wastes: A wasteland of ash and ancient stone, crumbled and forgotten. Its foul winds strip away one's flesh and erode away at the soul itself.
  • Thurial's Labyrinth: A shifting maze, where voiceless whispers lure in wanderers with promises of knowledge and power.
  • Bruada's Hunting Grounds: A vast and gnarled forest, where thick roots conceal untold centuries of slaughter and beasts howl without end.
