Bleddyn

Bleddyn is the god of disease, decay and the undead. It is the ruinous counterpart of Argadain, the deity who upholds the cycle of death and reincarnation.

Role

Bleddyn represents all that decays, erodes and otherwise wears away. Its influence is said to even corrupt the immortal soul. As the master of undeath, Bleddyn is the hated enemy of Argadain, the god of death. Those who employ pain and destruction in their craft are first among its worshippers, but it is not unheard of for commoners to offer it sacrifice to avoid plague and misfortune.

Bleddynite Tenets
  • Decay does not relent. Time ravages the tallest of mountains, and the smallest parasite feasts on titans. There is great power in that, and you must harness it.
  • All must fall. Let no memorial stand, tear down the walls of ages past, and defile all beauty which has been made to last.
  • Despair is the sweetest spice. Let all appeal to the Lord of Decay. When their loved ones wither, let them honor Bleddyn with bloody gifts, and know that they will do so again, and again.
  • Death is not the end. The undead exist only to bring misery unto the world. They are perfection. To be blessed with profane unlife is the greatest honor.

    Manifestations

Bleddyn is often depicted as a swirling mass of red, stringlike worms which slowly and unerringly consumes everything in its path.

    Worship

Bleddyn attracts few enthusiastic followers, but those who wish to wield its destructive gifts are said to spread disease, torture the living and ruin all that is beautiful in an effort to please their master. The Soul Flayer is the master of undeath, and shows great favor to those who pursue the path of necromancy or lichdom. Those who merely wish to avoid wasting away from Bleddyn's "gifts" are known to offer precious objects, animals or even their fellow kith to suffer and decay in their stead.

    Temples and Holy Places

The worshipers of Bleddyn do not build temples in their master's name. Instead, they lay waste to the work of others, desecrate their altars and conduct profane rituals in their ruins. Such acts please the Lord of Decay, whose undead progeny soon converge in these defiled places.
