Badger

Basic Information

Anatomy

Badgers have coarse fur that ranges from gray to yellowish brown. They bear a distinctive white stripe that runs from the snout up across the skull. They have a broad, flat body, short powerful legs and long, scythe-like claws

Ecology and Habitats

Badgers are tough, mean, voracious predators. They eat anything, and they’re active yearround. They dig dens in grassy hillsides. The dens are used for wintering and for raising their young.   Badgers are a real problem for mice in the Territories. If one finds a mouse settlement, it will devastate it—tearing through the defenses and devouring the mice within.
