Assassin

Assassins are blatantly illegal. what makes someone an assassin in the superhuman world, however, is a little bit different than what makes someone an assassin in the human world. In the superhuman community, an assassin is someone who is messing with affairs via assassination. There are a few different kinda of assassins.
  • Human assassins who work within the superhuman community.
  • Superhuman assassins who work in the human community.
  • Superhuman assassins who work in the superhuman community.
These are all classified as assassins that the AAS are responsible for. When a superhuman talks about assassins, this is what they are talking about. While there are human assassins who only deal in the human community, they are left for human law enforcement, which deals with them in due time usually. It is only if the assassin(s) falls into one of the above categories that the AAS should intervene as law enforcement, as superhumans and humans are supposed to stay separate. Human assassins that work within the superhuman community are usually either humans who happened to get involved by accident, and became assassins for one reason or another, or humans born into superhuman families and ended up becoming assassins, again, for one reason or another. Superhuman assassins that work in the human community receive the harshest punishments, as humans are, by nature, weaker and more vulnerable than superhumans are. This is because many superhumans have special enchancements to make their bodies able to withstand their power, and the are also aware of the existence of superhumans in the world. Because of this, superhumans who work as assassins in the human world receive sentences that are much more severe than those that work in the superhuman community. Human assassins may receive varying amounts of punishment, but will more often be put into rehabiliation programs that are separate from the ones that superhuman assassins go into. Superhumans that work as assassins in the superhuman community are usually rehabiliated and offered assistance until they can work without aid or using their skills negatively. Superhumans who are assassins in the superhuman community are the least disliked assassins. Superhumans that kill humans are the least liked, followed up my humans that kill superhumans. This is because most superhumans view humans as fragile, weak, or at a general disadvantage. The specific punishments for assassins vary based on kill counts, but the most typical ones are rehabilitation, life imprisonment, and capital punishment.       Because of the severe punishments, assassins usually end up marrying or being born into assassin clans. Clans are large groups of families that work as assassins. The oldest generations teach the youngest while the others work for various employers. Most clans have specific areas that they work in, but will take jobs in other places as well if the pay is high enough. Most assassins never meet anyone outside of their clan, but there have been documented cases where two or more clans have territorial disputes, and it is to be noted that clans have elaborate politics and complicated pacts and treaties. Clans are usually self-governed, and the way this is done varies. Some clans are patriarchal, matriarchal, or neither. Some use councils, while others are set up more like a monarchy, with one person, who is considered the head of the clan making all the rules and then passing on their duties to the next in line when they pass away. All clans do have an emissary who is entitled to be the messenger and represenative of the clan. Each clan has different rules about this position, but the one thing that is consistent is that it is a lifetime job, which only ends after the emissary either dies or serves for 100 years. Most die first.
