Yordenheid

To see such lush wilderness, stretching beyond the horizon... There is a home for us here. We need only take it.

Geography

Yordenheid is bordered to the south by a great range of mountains, beyond them a harsh desert from where the Yorden migrated from. The country itself is abundant with winding rivers that snake throughout the countryside, with woodlands and forests spanning the eastern coast and northern interior. The western side of the country has many open fields and valleys, providing ample room for farming to take place. The west coast is largely uninhabited, the population having been unable to occupy the majority of the country.   The eastern coast is comprised of numerous jagged cliffs, remnants of the Cleave that took place hundreds of years prior.   Ainen's Cleave, a narrow sea connecting the northern and southern oceans, provides the east coast of Yordenheid. Upon the opposite side of the Cleave sits the west coast of Caelith, and the militarised coastal region known as The Silver Ward.   In the far north to north-north-east, is the region still occupied by the Rhanün. It is currently hidden behind a massive stone wall, spanning across half the continent, between mountain ranges. What lies beyond is unknown, as none of the races present in Caelith and Yordenheid have been able to explore it.

Englas

Located shortly up the Relivien River is the city of Englas, the surrounding countryside a lavish, hilly valley. The northern edge of the city is pressed against the mountainous cliffs, forcing growth alongside the river. At the center of the city is the largest of three hills. Upon first glance, a visitor might think the hill to almost be a pale white mountain, the great hall at its top standing tall and proud.   To the south, across the Relivien River, are the other two hills, as well as some dense woodlands surrounding them. The towering cliffs on each side of the river stretch further west, with the northern side producing a number of mountains with light amounts of snow at their peak.   It is due to these conditions that the Yorden have been able to thrive, with other races lacking the fortune of their neighbours.

Fauna & Flora

Flora

The southern half of Yordenheid is lush woodlands, with numerous types of lightly coloured trees present. Those with white bark, such as sycamores, are very prominant. The western interior gives way to open fields with lengthy, winding rivers.   As you travel further north, the woods get thinner and thinner, replaced with much larger and older trees. While maintaining the canopies of the southern woodlands, there is far more room to manuever amongst the trees.   Further north still, towards the lands still held by the Rhanün, conifers become more and more common before completely dominating the landscape.
