Montana 2559

The year is 2559, 524 years after a nuclear war devastated the world, places that were destroyed the most were North America, Eurasia, and East Asia. These places faced massive devastation and death in the 100's of millions, with their terrain altered forever. The aftermath of the nuclear detonations had effects worldwide, all across the globe nuclear fires scorched the earth and killed billions, the fires caused massive amounts of soot to be launched into the stratosphere causing it to block out the sun, therefore, achieving a nuclear winter. Thus bringing humanity back to the stone age, but with the abundance of resources from the deceased the small number of survivors and groups were able to thrive and flourish. Once the dust settled after a 20-year long winter, less than a hundred people survived scattered all over the world but life went on causing groups to form their own ideals and laws, feuds to start, and populations to grow.   This story takes place in Erica the most populated area in North America. Erica is located in the ashes of the American state Montana, Montana was devastated the least because of its lack of population but still suffered the horrible side effects of the nuclear devastation around it. Erica Is made up many territories spanning from vast mountain ranges to flat lowlands, many of which are contested and act as a battleground for competing factions trying to take control of the entirety of Erica or simply to loot and pillage.
