Three Sisters
Three Sisters is a tripartite city-state located on the southern shores of the Inner Sea. Three Sisters' influence among the Mercantile States is extensive, boasting close ties with the Hanseatic Confederation as well as the Magisterial States.
Three Sisters is in truth made up of three constituent parts, each with their own government, laws, and customs:
Market
Market is the oldest part of Three Sisters, and encompasses the Old Market (known as the Warren), the Arena, and much of the riverfront. It is the most traditionally mercantile of the three parts.Kingston
Kingston is located largely on the western bank of the Sollis river, and is thought to be the original capital city of Old Ossiria, the archaic name for the region located to the west of that storied river. Kingston has grown over the centuries of Three Sisters' existence, and each new part of the city boasts its own walls. The oldest walls are in a state of considerable disrepair, but the outermost walls are both modern and very strong.Temple
Temple is the site of the First Church, and the location of the Holy Church of Mankind's Redemption's founding. The Eponymous temple, like the rest of the city, is ancient, but has grown and been added to over the centuries. Temple is the part of the city where most of the University is headquartered.Enclaves and Exclaves
The boundaries between the constituent cities are fixed, but not unambiguous, and there are a number of areas where there are "islands" of one city located physically within another. This is especially true along the boundary between Temple and Market, where individual buildings are considered to be part of one city even though they are surrounded by the other.Government
Three Sisters has a separate government for each of its constituent parts. Market is a form of limited republic, Kingston is a feudal state, and Temple is essentially a remote exclave of the Magisterial Realms.
