The Fall of the Dragons

Supposedly several hundred years passed after Maghran’s antics when the Great Dragons of the world declared war on one another. Each of these mighty beasts sought complete dominion over the world, each believing their way of following Tiamat was correct. To battle they went, fire and fury the likes of which is indescribable. Many years passed like this, sky battles with no Great Dragon ever claiming the edge. This is when Maghran had an idea. Older and wiser now, Maghran knew that a collection of dragons existed that were unified under Bahamut, the dragon deity who opposed tiamat on the side of good. These dragons, whose scales were coated in metal, were in hiding, having fled in fear many decades earlier from the much larger population of chromatic dragons. Maghran, feigning humility, informed their leaders that this war was occurring, and within an instant they were all in flight, racing towards a fight without questioning Maghran’s motives. These unified Metallic dragons would have been crushed by a united Chromatic dragon force, but divided, all forces were caught completely off guard by the return of their old enemy. Huge battles took place, each with its own heroic sacrifices, until eventually all that remained was Maghran and a handful of others. With the vacuum in power, Maghran implanted himself upon the kingdom of what remained. Unfortunately for him, he had not made sure the Sapphire Queen had fallen, the last Great Dragon. Realizing his plot, the Sapphire Queen exiled him from their home, cursed to be hunted within the lands of man. From here the Sapphire Queen began the process of rebuilding chromatic dragon nests, even those who she had once called her enemy.
