Goron Funeral

History

It is a tradition as old as the Goron people themselves. Death Mountain is central to most major aspects of Goron life, even in the modern-day, and that importance extends to death as well. As Gorons are sustained by the rocks produced by Death Mountain, the idea that life comes from the mountain isn't even just a spiritual concept. The Gorons see this ritual as returning to the very source of life, the bodies of the deceased being melted back down into the magma that becomes the rocks that are necessary for survival and may someday become a new Goron again.

Execution

As typical of most funeral ceremonies, the ritual is usually started with eulogies and sometimes a blessing. Then, the deceased is put into the Death Mountain Caldera by their family, or closest friends if they have no family.

Participants

As Goron deaths are actually relatively few and far between, thanks to their extended lifespans, most funerals are attended by the current Big Brother of the Goron Tribe themself. Any offspring of the deceased and any close friends, especially sworn brothers, will typically be in attendance. Most times the more religious aspects of the funeral are run by a Goron Elder, usually one who was close to the deceased.
