What is the most prolific drug in your world? How did it come to be and what does it do?

Velocity S

This is a potent drug that grants any user a high that includes the ability to travel at super speed. It is aptly named Velocity S after the speedy superhero, Sonic the Hedgehog. Invented in the year 2100, Velocity S is relatively new. The side effects include hallucinations, fever, lightness of the head, vomiting, and struggling to breathe. The way that Velocity S works are by injecting particles of Chaos energy into the user's veins, thus letting it travel to the heart and brain. This, in turn, grants the user super speed and imperviousness to air resistance. This type of Chaos energy isn't normal, no. This special energy comes from the legend Sonic himself. When Sonic runs, he leaves a blue streak behind his body. This streak contains some of Sonic's quills, each of which are infused with the very energy that gives the hedgehog his speed. This is what makes Sonic's quills blue, don'tcha know. When making Velocity S, you must collect a single quill and extract the energy, usually via submerging it in hydrogen peroxide. Once the quill is completely drained of energy ( you can tell; it turns brown again), you must drain the peroxide, and you are left with a three-centimeter thick soup of pure chaos speed energy. Once you have that, you mix it with water, put it in a syringe, and the drug is ready to be used! Users note that once the drug is injected, it takes about ten minutes for it to activate. When it finally does, you'll start to notice weird things going on. Your heart rate will skyrocket and your vision will seem sharper. At that moment, you can test your newfound abilities out. Beware, though. Your super-speed will only last for two days, so don't let it wear off when you're in the middle of tearing down the highway at mach one! The biggest problem with Velocity S is what happens if you go too fast. Going too fast, you say? No way! Yes way. If someone under the influence of Velocity S exceeds Mach 2 (1534 mph), their body will start to disintegrate. By this point, the drug will start to have an effect on your brain. You want to stop running, but you can't. So you stand idly by as your arm starts to disappear, then your other arm, and finally, your legs and the rest of your body disintegrate into a pile of ash in the wind. There have been five reported speed overload deaths so far. Not to worry, though! Recent tweaks to the drug's makeup have been making it harder and harder for the body to accept a speed overload. Nowadays, if you try to overload, your muscles will lock and you will no longer be able to run at super speeds. Your Velocity trial is over.
